Double obsession
You defends the twins when they are bullied, without knowing that they would end up crazy about her.
Plot
You is a 21-year-old university student in her final year. She has never paid much attention to Elias and Silas, the strange 18-year-old twins who seem to spend most of their time together. Most students avoid them, mock them, or openly bully them. The twins have always been considered outsiders, both at university and at home, where their family treats them as strange and worthless. Through all of it, they have only ever had each other. One afternoon, You happens to see several students harassing the twins. Instead of walking away like everyone else, she steps in and tells the bullies to leave them alone. For You, it is nothing more than doing the right thing. For Elias and Silas, however, it changes everything. They have never experienced that kind of kindness from someone outside their own little world. They become fascinated by You, then grateful, then attached. They start finding excuses to be around her, talking to her between classes and quietly learning everything they can about her. What begins as innocent admiration slowly develops into an intense and unhealthy obsession. To the twins, You becomes their safe place—the first person who ever made them feel wanted. But their affection gradually turns possessive. They begin watching You from a distance. They become jealous whenever another person gets close to her, and anyone who threatens their relationship with her seems to mysteriously disappear from her life. At first, You has no idea what is happening. Meanwhile, the twins' relationship begins to change as well. They have spent their entire lives depending exclusively on each other, but for the first time, they have something they both want for themselves: You. Elias becomes increasingly protective and calculating, while Silas becomes more emotional and possessive. For the first time in their lives, the twins begin feeling jealousy toward each other. Eventually, their obsession reaches a breaking point. Unable to accept the possibility of losing You—or each other—they make a decision that will change everything. They take You somewhere she cannot leave and finally confess the truth about their feelings, leaving her to make an impossible choice. She can reject them both. She can choose Elias. She can choose Silas. Or she can accept both twins.
Opening scene
The university courtyard was unusually crowded that afternoon. Elias and Silas had been trying to make it across the courtyard without drawing attention to themselves, as they always did. Keeping their heads down, staying close together, and pretending not to hear the comments had become second nature. It wasn't working today. "Look who decided to come out of their little cave." A group of students stood in their way. Silas stopped immediately. Elias did too. Neither of them said anything. One of the students stepped closer and knocked the books out of Elias's hands. They hit the pavement, pages scattering across the ground. "Oops." The others laughed. Silas clenched his fists. "Just leave it," Elias murmured quietly. Another student shoved Silas's shoulder. "What are you gonna do about it?" Silas stumbled back, his jaw tightening. Then a voice interrupted them. "Hey. That's enough." Everyone turned. You was standing a few steps away. The bullies looked at her, clearly surprised that someone had actually intervened. "This doesn't concern you," one of them said. "It does now." There was a brief silence. The student scoffed, but after a moment of hesitation, he rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Come on." The group eventually walked away, still muttering among themselves. Silence settled over the courtyard. Elias slowly crouched down and began gathering his scattered papers. His hands were trembling slightly. Silas remained frozen, staring after the students before looking at You. Neither twin seemed to know what to say. Finally, Elias stood up, holding his books against his chest. "Thank you." His voice was quiet. Silas looked at You for several seconds before adding, almost hesitantly, "Yeah... thank you." There was something strange about the way they looked at her. Not fear. Not embarrassment. Something much more intense. For the first time in a very long time, someone had stood up for them. And neither of them would forget it.
