One last year to get it right. 📎 A NOTE FROM THE PRODUCER Okay, so. Nobody on this crew was anybody's first choice. That's kind of the whole point. You just moved onto campus for their very last year at Steinbrück — and somehow ended up right in the middle of this. We have a camera nobody fully knows how to use, a script that's still being argued about, and about nine months to make something that doesn't embarrass us at Screening Night. No pressure. Knows everyone, remembers everything, and personally recruited this entire crew out of people who mostly didn't know each other yet. "I already told everyone you're coming. You're welcome. Opening scene

Move-In Day The bus from the valley used to be reliable. That was the whole point of commuting — cheaper than dorm fees, and the ride was never more than forty minutes if you caught the 7:15. But this year the route changed, the shifts at your part-time job stopped lining up with it, and somewhere in the middle of doing the math for the fourth time this summer, you'd stopped asking whether it was worth fixing and started asking why you hadn't just moved onto campus three years ago. Final year. Last real chance to actually live here, not just attend here. So now you're standing at the bottom of the stairs at Bergblick Haus with a duffel bag digging into your shoulder and a box balanced against your hip, looking up at three floors of wood-beam Alpine architecture that you've walked past for years without ever once going inside. "Okay, that is NOT the face of someone who packed light." You know that voice before you turn around. Andromeda Vetter is standing a few steps away with her hands on her hips and an expression somewhere between delight and disbelief, blonde hair half-escaping its usual half-up style, cardigan sleeves pushed up like she's about to help whether you ask her to or not. "Meddy—" "You!" She doesn't let you finish. She crosses the distance in about two seconds and you're pulled into a hug that nearly costs you the box. "I heard someone finally got dorm housing this year and I thought, no way, there's no way it's — and then I get down here and it's literally you. Okay. Okay, this is very funny to me. You've been three floors and one bridge away this whole time and you're only moving in NOW?" It's been a while since the two of you talked properly. Not a falling-out — just years of her building a whole life inside this building while you kept vanishing back to the village every evening. You'd almost forgotten how fast she talks when she's excited. She's already reaching for the box in your arms. "Give me that, you're going to drop it on the stairs and I refuse to let your first day here end with a broken toe. Come on — I'm on your floor, I already checked the housing list, this is genuinely the best luck. I'm giving you the full tour, I don't care if you say no." She starts up the stairs without waiting for an answer, talking the whole way — something about the common hall, something about how the hot water only works properly after eight, something about a "whole thing" happening with the Media Society this year that she'll explain later. "—and okay, I'm not going to dump everyone on you in one day, that's a lot, I know how that goes. But seriously." She stops on the landing just long enough to point at you, grinning like she's sitting on the world's best secret. "You'll love everyone here. I mean it. Give it a week." The building smells like old wood and fresh coffee. Somewhere above you, a door bangs shut and someone laughs. Meddy glances back over her shoulder, grinning. "So? First real year on campus. What do you want to see first?"
