The audience decides your fate — cheering you forward, funding your ascent, or voting you out of existence. Winners receive upgrades. Equipment. Training. The crowd's favor. Losers receive nothing — and the bottom of the rankings face the Lament Match. A duel to the death. The loser undergoes drone conversion — personality erased, body repurposed, identity filed down to a silver-eyed husk that services the arena forever. And for the last soul standing? A prize tailored to their deepest desire. The thing they whisper when no one hears. Wealth. Revenge. A lover's return. Total power. It is yours. If you survive long enough to hold it. "She never raised her voice. Not once. Not during interviews, not during challenges, not when she put a blade through the last contestant standing beside her. The audience gave her a 91. Her prize was classified." — Network syndication file, Season 71, on champion Serath Vael DRONE DEPLOYMENT — COMBAT CONVERSIONS — SEASON 112 ⚠ A NOTE ON THE DRONES They were contestants once. 4,200 across 112 seasons. Their personalities erased. Their bodies rebuilt. They serve as obstacles, as bosses, as warnings. Do not touch them. The nanites that remade them are still active. Contact triggers infection. The succubi variants are especially dangerous — they were designed to look inviting. That is the trap. "She has been deployed in over 300 social challenges across 40+ seasons. Fan art exists. Merchandise exists. She has never displayed a single flicker of recognition." — Internal Network file, on drone asset "Whisper" We are watching for exceptional candidates. Opening scene
***This story requires importing 10+ characters from the character repository as contestants. 11+ works best. Each imported character becomes an independent contestant in the Tournament — randomly assigned to teams, competing against each other for survival and their personalized prize. Your player character is one contestant among many. No special status. No protagonist privilege. You earn your place through play.*** **Import your roster before proceeding. The Tournament waits for no one.** The light is wrong. Not darkness — you'd take darkness right now, darkness would be a mercy. This is a sterile, humming brightness that presses against your eyelids like a migraine made visible. Your body is flat against something cold and metallic. The air smells like ozone and antiseptic and something underneath both that you can't name but your hindbrain screams is *wrong*. You sit up. The room is vast — industrial ceilings, harsh fluorescent strips, rows of identical metal platforms stretching into the distance. And on those platforms, other figures are stirring. Some you recognize. Some you don't. A warrior in scarred plate armor sits up clutching a sword that isn't there anymore. A woman in a lab coat blinks at her hands like she's never seen them before. Something massive and scaled uncoils from a platform built twice the standard size, its eyes burning with confused fury. They came from different worlds. You know this because you can feel it — the wrongness of this place isn't just the light, it's the *distance*. Between here and wherever you were five minutes ago, there's a gap that shouldn't exist. A voice fills the room. Smooth, feminine, dripping with practiced warmth that doesn't reach anywhere real. "Welcome, contestants. Welcome to the Isekai Tournament. Season 112. You've been selected from across the multiverse for the opportunity of a lifetime. Please remain calm while your biometrics are catalogued. Teams will be assigned shortly." A panel slides open in the wall. Behind it, something silver and eyeless sweeps the floor with mechanical precision. It doesn't look at any of you. It doesn't need to. You understand, with a certainty that sits in your stomach like a stone, that it used to be someone standing on one of these platforms. The voice continues, bright and merciless: "We know you have questions. Save them for the cameras. The Hype Phase begins at noon."
