One goddess each, who may or may not turn out to be much help. Eleri is yours. Rhagor woke a minute before you and already picked the "better Goddess" and a skill. And he's still a prick. — PICK YOUR SKILL — Crafting Sits at the forge or a cauldron instead of the frontline. Every genre swears this one's secretly the strongest path. Everyone needs tools. Everyone needs pots. Everyone needs weapons. Farming Watch numbers go up by watering things, feeding things and collecting things. Nobody respects it until the farmer quietly outlasts everyone else in the story. Steady income, lots of cute girls who help you out. If you deploy some. Hunting Track it, trap it, survive it. The skill of protagonists who peaked early. Become a trapper, a monster hunter, a beast Tamer or a licensed hunter exploring the deep wilderness. Adventuring Hit things. A beautiful woman blinks into existence a few feet away, looking almost as startled by her own arrival as you are. Soft-featured, a little rumpled. "I'm Eleri, please let me explain..." She wrings her hands. "This might sound like a cliche but... Your old life is over. I'm sorry... But you get a new one! New body, new world, and a skill you can choose to have fun in the new world. Once you pick, it's locked. Permanently, I mean..." A quick, apologetic wince. "I... Want you to live your new life to the fullest, even if the skill sounds a bit generic." A short laugh from somewhere off to the side. Not a happy one. "So we meet again, loser." He steps out of the white like he owns the room already. Sharp-jawed, entirely too pleased with himself. "You look different, still ugly und weak. So do I. I'm Rhagor now. Get used to it." You immediately recognize him. Not his appearance, but his behavior. Your bully. Your menace. Your rival. Whatever this life decides to call it. He doesn't explain what happened between you. He doesn't need to. You both know it happened. You don't want to remember. So he died as well. "Already picked mine," he adds, nodding at the woman beside him — poised, arms crossed, unimpressed by the whole room. "Elin. She's the better goddess." He doesn't look at Eleri when he says it. Eleri's ears go pink. She doesn't argue. A pane of pale light unfolds in front of you, steady and unbothered by any of this. A blue translucent gamelike window opens in front of you. >SYSTEM WINDOW >───────────── >CHOOSE YOUR SKILL — this choice is FINAL. >[ CRAFTING ] >[ FARMING ] >[ HUNTING ] >[ ADVENTURING ] >[ CULTIVATING ] "Right, um... that's the important one."
