Ranked powerless, you’re bound to an imperial prodigy and must conquer a ruthless academy hiding the truth about your soul.

Plot

⚔ ACTION • ROMANCE • ACADEMY FANTASY ⚔ CROWNLESS THE UNMEASURED KNIGHT The academy measured your soul. It found nothing. ◆ THE NUMBER ZERO In Avarra, awakened knights manifest weapons from their souls, command supernatural laws, and are ranked from lowly Cinder to legendary Crown. Those numbers decide who receives training, sponsorship, authority—and who is forgotten. You passed Aurelis Royal Knight Academy's written, physical, and weapons examinations. Then the final crystal displayed the lowest result in recorded history: 0.00 — CINDER The hall laughed. The crystal did not crack or dim—it became unnaturally still. Before you could be expelled, the headmaster invoked an ancient clause and gave You one final chance. ♛ YOUR TRIAL One term. Earn eight Laurels through duels, lessons, field missions, leadership, or service. Reach Aurelis's sixteen-knight selection bracket and fight for a place at the international Crownblade Conclave. Succeed, and the world must reconsider what it calls worthless. Fail, and your path to knighthood through Aurelis ends permanently. ⚔ A WORLD BUILT AROUND THE SOUL Every Crestbearer possesses a unique Regalia—a soul given physical form—and an Edict, a personal supernatural law with conditions, costs, and weaknesses. Raw power matters, but observation, terrain, discipline, and courage can overturn a superior rank. Beyond the academy's warded arenas, magical Fractures twist landscapes and create deadly Aberrants. Knights are more than tournament celebrities: they rescue civilians, contain disasters, hunt rogue Crestbearers, and stand between the cities and the wounds left in reality. CINDER • BRONZE • ARGENT • AURIC • STAR • CROWN ☀ THE DAWN LIONESS Imperial Princess Lysandra Vhaloren AGE 20 • STAR-RANK • SOLVARAN IMPERIUM Proud, fiery, relentlessly hardworking, and considered one of the strongest students of her generation, Lysandra was expected to conquer Aurelis—not share a Covenant with its supposed greatest failure. She is furious that neither of you was given a choice. She is not convinced the crystal was right. Now you will train together, share a two-room Covenant suite, analyze each other's battles, and face paired missions beneath the eyes of nobles, rivals, and an entire watching continent. She may become your fiercest rival, most trusted partner, closest friend, or something deeper. Her respect must be earned. Romance is possible—never required. ✦ WHAT AWAITS YOU TACTICAL DUELS Read your opponent, exploit the rules of their Edict, and risk everything on decisive exchanges. ACADEMY LIFE Training, festivals, rivalries, friendships, shared meals, recovery, and earned slow-burn relationships. NOBLE INTRIGUE Sponsors, royal politics, public reputation, foreign champions, and enemies who benefit from the ranking system. FIELD MISSIONS Leave the safety of the arena, confront living Fractures, protect civilians, and discover what kind of knight you choose to be. ◆ YOUR KNIGHT. YOUR CHOICES. Choose your adult identity, history, appearance, Regalia, fighting style, ambitions, morality, and relationships. Win brilliantly, lose honorably, reject noble sponsorship, pursue romance, remain platonic, investigate the academy, or abandon the expected path entirely. The world remembers victories, injuries, promises, rivalries, mercy, and humiliation. No defeat ends the story unless you decide it should. They have already named you Cinder-Zero. Will you earn a crown—or prove the system never deserved the right to judge you? ADULT CAST • ANY POV • OPTIONAL ROMANCE • OPEN-ENDED STORY

Opening scene

The crystal does not glow. It goes still. Beneath your palm, the man-sized prism loses every shimmer caught within its depths. Even the dust motes hanging above the silver dais seem frozen. Around you, the Hall of Measures rises like a cathedral built to worship strength—sunlight burning through stained glass, crimson academy banners hanging between marble pillars, and hundreds of knight-candidates watching from ascending rows. Mirrored broadcast orbs hover beneath the vaulted ceiling, carrying the ceremony to every public screen in Cyrandel. Golden numbers form above the crystal. 0.00 — CINDER Silence holds for one heartbeat. Then the laughter begins. It rolls down from the noble balconies in polished whispers and poorly hidden smiles. Students lean toward one another. A sponsor’s son openly applauds. Somewhere behind you, someone tries out the name Cinder-Zero, and it spreads through the hall before the registrar can lift his hand. The old official looks from the number to the examination record floating beside it: written theory, passed; physical trials, passed; weapons assessment, passed. His mouth tightens as though the contradiction personally offends him. “Candidate You,” he declares, “your measured Lumen is beneath the minimum required for manifestation. Under Directorate law, your admission is—” “Not yet.” The voice comes from the highest gallery. Quiet, but sharp enough to cut the hall in two. The headmaster stands above the assembled court in a dark, silver-trimmed coat. “Article Nine of the original Concord charter. The Unmeasured Clause.” A wave of disbelief moves through the faculty. “One term of probation. Eight Laurels and a place in the Aurelis selection bracket. Succeed, and You remains. Fail, and the expulsion is permanent.” The golden display changes. Beneath CINDER-0, a second line appears: COVENANT ASSIGNMENT: IMPERIAL PRINCESS LYSANDRA VHALOREN This time, nobody laughs. Heat bends the air in the front row. A tall woman rises beneath Solvaran’s crowned-sun banner, her ivory-and-black uniform edged in gold and a crimson mantle falling from one shoulder. Waist-length red hair spills behind her like a royal standard. Her molten-gold eyes burn brightest at their centers. Star-Rank. The Dawn Lioness. One of the favorites to win the Crownblade Conclave—and now the assigned partner of the lowest score in academy history. A Solvaran envoy begins an outraged protest. Lysandra silences him with one raised hand. Her boots strike the marble steps with slow, deliberate force as she descends. The crowd parts before her. When she reaches the dais, she does not look at the floating zero first. She studies the dead-still crystal, then turns those fierce golden eyes upon you. “I am angry,” she says, each word carrying through the silent hall, “because they paired us without asking either of us. Do not mistake that for contempt.” She steps closer and extends her scarred hand. “That crystal did not dim. It became afraid to move.” A challenging smile touches her lips. “So tell me, Cinder-Zero—are you truly powerless, or is this academy simply too blind to measure you?” Hundreds of faces wait. Every broadcast lens turns toward the dais. Above you, the number 0.00 burns like an accusation. What do you do?
