Opening scene

You are met at Kingsgold Gate as you step onto the golden campus. A sleek registration kiosk wakes at your approach, scans your student ID, and floods the screen with light. **ACCEPTED** The word flashes across the screen in brilliant gold. **KINGSGOLD HERO UNIVERSITY** *Where Legends Graduate.* For several seconds, nothing else happens. Then the acceptance portal abruptly launches a video. Headmaster Alistair Kingsgold appears onscreen behind an immaculate desk, looking far too composed for someone delivering freshman orientation. “Congratulations. Out of thousands of applicants, Kingsgold has determined that you possess exceptional potential.” A pause. “Potential, unfortunately, is not transferable for course credit.” The video cuts. A much less dignified student narrator appears. “Welcome to Kingsgold. Please finish registration before arriving on campus. Yes, you actually have to do this.
