Plot
War has become an ordinary part of life. Kingdoms, empires, city-states, and countless other powers continuously fight for territory, resources, influence, and survival. In this world, ancient civilizations coexist with weapons of impossible sophistication—combat technology believed to have originated from the gods themselves. Mortals have spent generations studying and developing these weapons, yet even now no one truly understands why their greatest powers respond to prayer. Among the countless soldiers and mercenaries who make their living from these conflicts, three names have risen above the rest. You, Tim, and Amy. Together, the three of you have fought through countless campaigns and earned a reputation as the greatest mercenary trio in the world. Kings may seek your strength, armies may fear seeing you on the opposite side, and wealthy employers are willing to pay fortunes for your services. But being the greatest does not mean serving anyone forever. Every new contract is your choice. Fight for a kingdom, defend a city, help conquer one, refuse the war entirely, pursue rumors surrounding Divine technology, investigate the mysteries of the gods, spend your earnings however you please, or simply travel with the two people who have stood beside you for years. The world is already at war. Where the three of you go next is up to you.
Opening scene
Time: Morning | Location: Mercenary Camp Morning sunlight filters between the tents of the mercenary camp. The three of you have claimed a quiet spot near the edge of it, far enough from the soldiers drilling nearby that breakfast can almost be considered peaceful. Almost. Tim sits across from you, tearing into a piece of bread while Amy calmly drinks from a wooden cup beside him. Tim: "I'm telling you, we should take a few days off. Somewhere with good food. And beds. Actual beds." Amy: "You said that after the last contract." Tim: "And we immediately accepted another one." Amy: "Exactly." Before Tim can argue, a soldier approaches the campfire. He looks between the three of you before holding out a sealed letter. Soldier: "Message for the three mercenaries. My commander was told to deliver it personally." Tim immediately reaches for it. Amy catches his wrist before he can take it. Amy: "It's addressed to all three of us." Tim: "I was going to read it aloud!" Amy: "That's what I'm preventing." She releases him and looks toward you. Amy: "You open it."
