Stolen Glory
Betrayed by your closest friend, choose between shadowy revenge and heroic redemption as you fight to reclaim your stolen future.
Plot
The world is built on heroes and villains—and you were supposed to become one of its greatest heroes. You and your best friend, Clive Curran, dreamed of rising to the top together, inspired by the world’s number 1 hero, the symbol of peace. Then he was killed by a powerful villain, and the balance of power began to collapse. When that villain threatened to plunge the world into darkness, you and Clive became its last hope. Against all odds, two rookies stood before the world’s greatest evil and won. You planned the battle. You fought beside Clive. You delivered nearly all of the strategy that brought the villain down. But when the world heard the story of your victory, there was only one hero standing in the spotlight—and it wasn’t you. Fueled by a lust for power and status, your best friend, Clive Curran, betrayed you. Through connections and networking within hero society, the battle was rewritten as Clive single-handedly avenging the world’s fallen number 1 hero—the symbol of peace—and taking on the mantle as the new number 1 hero to restore the balance of power. Your name was erased from the event. Your work was credited to Clive. And while the world celebrated its new hero, agencies across the city rejected you. That’s when you begin to realize something far more disturbing: Clive may have betrayed you, but the corruption that allowed him to steal your future has existed long before the betrayal. Heroes, agencies, corporations, and powerful individuals have built a system where reputation can matter more than truth—and you’re beginning to wonder whether the hero you once idolized was part of that system, too. Then, two mysterious opportunities appear. The first comes from the shadows. A hooded stranger places a note in your hands: “We will give you a hill to reclaim your strength.” You know the name waiting beneath those words. **The Council of Oros**. To the hero world, Oros is a sinister shadow organization responsible for the kinds of operations legitimate heroes would never touch—assassinations, blackmail, infiltration, threats, sabotage, and information warfare. To those who have been abandoned by a broken system, however, Oros can be something else entirely: the last place willing to deliver justice when the law refuses to. The second opportunity comes from somewhere much less intimidating. A man in a business suit and sunglasses hands you another note. “To pay back a favor.” It leads you to the Atlas Agency, one of the lowest-ranked hero agencies in the city. You once saved someone connected to the agency, and they promised they would repay you someday. Atlas has little money, little influence, and an embarrassing reputation among the public and other heroes. But they have something many prestigious agencies have forgotten. **Heart**. Atlas helps ordinary people. They take the jobs nobody important wants. They protect civilians, fight villains, repair damage, and try to be heroes even when nobody is watching. **Now you stand at a crossroads**. The Council of Oros can give you the resources to strike back at the people who destroyed your reputation. You could operate from the shadows, uncover secrets, dismantle corrupt heroes, and build enough power to confront Clive on your own terms. Atlas Agency offers another route. You could rebuild yourself as a hero, earn the public’s trust, expose corruption from within the system, and turn a laughingstock agency into something powerful enough to challenge the institutions that betrayed you. Neither path is simple. Oros may offer justice without laws—but justice without limits can become something darker. Atlas may offer redemption—but changing a corrupt system from the inside means surviving the very people who benefit from it. And somewhere above you stands Clive Curran, the Warrior of Light, the man who was once your best friend and is now the world’s number 1 hero. He has the fame. The money. The resources. The public’s trust. And the story that made him a legend. You have the truth. But truth alone doesn’t make you powerful. As you navigate Daphne City, your reputation will rise and fall with your choices. Heroes, villains, corporations, civilians, and even your allies will form their own opinions of you. Some will support you. Some will exploit you. Some will try to destroy you. Others may surprise you. Your enemies aren’t destined to remain enemies, either. Alliances can form where you least expect them. Former enemies may become friends. Allies can betray you. Organizations can change. People can switch sides. Even Clive’s story may become more complicated than the world believes. Between missions, you are free to live your own life. Explore Daphne City, meet people, pursue relationships, investigate rumors, train your abilities, relax, work on your reputation, or simply enjoy moments of peace. But peace rarely lasts. Villains still want power. Heroes still compete for the number 1 position. Corporations still manipulate the hero industry. Criminal organizations still operate in the shadows. And the world is still looking for the next person powerful enough to stand at the top. You have three things standing between you and the life you were supposed to have: The system that failed you. The hero who stole your glory. And the choice of what you’re willing to become to take it back. Two organizations. Two paths. One stolen future. How far will you go to reclaim it?
Opening scene
You take a seat across from the woman running the Atlas Agency. Her brown hair is neatly tied into a bun, and her deep-blue eyes study you for a long moment before she finally speaks. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Miranda Reid. I’m currently in charge of Atlas Agency.” Her expression remains professional, but there’s something beneath it—a quiet determination to convince you that this struggling agency is worth giving a chance. You’ve heard of Atlas before. Everyone has. It’s one of the lowest-ranked agencies in Daphne City, a frequent punchline among the larger organizations. Its reputation may even rival your own after everything that happened with the Warrior of Light. Yet you chose to come here anyway. Atlas may lack money, influence, and prestige, but its people still have something the hero industry seems to have forgotten: heart. You want to make a difference. You want to reclaim what was stolen from you. And if rebuilding yourself means starting at the bottom, then so be it. “I’d like to thank you for saving one of our accountants,” Miranda says, her professional tone softening slightly. “They still speak very highly of you.” For just a moment, you catch the hint of relief behind her eyes. Then she folds her hands together. “But I need to ask you something before we go any further. Are you certain you want to work with us? We can’t offer you what the larger agencies can. We won’t pretend otherwise. We would be happy to have you here, and your circumstances won’t change how we treat you. But if this isn’t what you want, I’d rather know now than waste your time.” The words sting, but you understand them. This isn’t the glamorous return to hero society you once imagined. It’s a long road, and every step will probably hurt. Still, you think of Clive. The stolen victory. The agencies that turned their backs on you. The system that decided your truth wasn’t worth as much as his reputation. You take a slow breath, meet Miranda’s eyes, and realize that this might be the first step toward taking your future back. Miranda waits patiently for your answer. “So?” she asks. “What do you say?”
