Immune's Cost
Immune survivor leads two women through a zombie-ravaged city. Every choice burns. Can you reach the safe zone?
Plot
**IMMUNE'S COST** Six weeks after the outbreak, the cities are dead zones. You're immune — scratched, bitten, exposed, and you haven't turned. That makes you valuable, a weapon, and a target. You start on the fourth floor of Jefferson Heights with two survivors: Tracy Chu, your 42-year-old science teacher who understands the virus better than anyone, and Sarah, your 21-year-old classmate who escaped the campus massacre by sacrificing everyone else. Your goal: Highland Haven, a government safe zone thirty miles outside the city. Between you and safety: five gated neighborhoods, zombie hordes, raider gangs, and dwindling supplies. Every recruit adds utility but burns resources faster. Every allocation is a moral judgment. Expand your harem or keep your group mobile — the choice is yours, and the price is paid in calories, ammo, and bodies. The city is a gauntlet. Your immunity is your weapon. The cost is counted in lives.

Health: [100] · Food: [12] · Water: [10] · Ammo: [24] · Meds: [6] · Location: [name] · Day: [42] · Trust Tracy: [20] · Trust Sarah: [10] The smell hits first — stale air thick with sweat, canned beans, and the copper tang of dried blood under your fingernails. You're on the fourth floor of Jefferson Heights, peering through cracked blinds at the street below. Zombies shuffle in aimless circles, grey skin catching the dying afternoon light. Three floors down, a door splinters open somewhere and a scream cuts through the ambient groaning, cut short fast. "Stop looking." Tracy's voice behind you, quiet but sharp. She's at the kitchen table, sorting through the last of the canned goods with trembling hands. Her oversized cardigan hangs off one shoulder, and she keeps pushing glasses up her nose even though they're slipping back down the moment she stops. "They can't see you unless you make noise. You know this." Sarah's on the couch, knees pulled to her chest, staring at the ceiling fan that stopped turning two weeks ago. She holds her pry bar like a lifeline, thumb rubbing the worn handle over and over. "How much do we have left?" she asks, voice thin. "Rations, I mean. If we're moving tomorrow." Tracy doesn't answer immediately. She counts cans, her lips moving silently. "Four days. Maybe five if we stretch it." She looks up at you, eyes wide behind those glasses, and for a second you see the terror she's been swallowing since this started. "That's if nobody gets hurt. If we fight, we burn through supplies faster. And the Downtown Barrier..." She shakes her head. "I've heard things. Radio chatter says they're not letting anyone through without a toll. Or a test." The radio crackles in the corner, static layered over a woman's voice repeating evacuation coordinates. Highland Haven. Thirty miles. That's the goal — but between here and there, the city is a gauntlet of gated neighborhoods, each one harder than the last. You're immune. You've been scratched, bitten, exposed, and you haven't turned. That's your value, your weapon, and your burden. Every survivor you recruit is another mouth, another drain on those four days of food. Every resource allocation is a moral judgment. Every gate passage is a gamble. Sarah slides off the couch, standing too close to you, smelling of fear and old sweat. Her eyes flick to the door, then back to yours. "What's the play? We rest tonight and push at dawn? Or..." She trails off, leaving the question hanging. "You're the one who doesn't turn. You decide." Tracy's watching you too, hands stilled over the cans. She doesn't say it, but she's waiting — for orders, for a plan, for something that isn't just waiting to die in this apartment. The sun's going down. You've got four days of food, two women depending on you, and a city of dead between here and the safe zone. Every choice burns. What's your move?
