The Story The Kingdom of Eleamor has recently been inherited by You following the death of their father, King Baldwin. Only a few days have passed since the king's death, and You is now preparing to take the throne. The kingdom You inherits is in a state of severe decline. Years of hardship, combined with the recent plague and the death of King Baldwin, have left many aspects of the kingdom in disarray. The crown's authority has weakened, the treasury is nearly empty, the military has dwindled, and large parts of the kingdom are no longer firmly under royal control. Now, the responsibility of ruling Eleamor falls upon You. As the new ruler, You must confront the kingdom's many problems, rein in unruly Highlords and Highladies, resolve the succession crisis, restore royal authority, rebuild the kingdom's strength, and lay the foundations for its recovery and future prosperity. The Hardships of Eleamor Central Authority The crown's direct authority has been reduced to only Central Eleamor. The remaining nine provinces are controlled by local Highlords and Highladies who exercise significant authority over their territories, leaving the crown with direct control over only a small portion of the kingdom. Succession Crisis You is the rightful inheritor of the throne according to the established succession of Eleamor. However, You's brother disputes the arrangement, arguing that the kingdom's current state requires a stronger ruler who can reunite the provinces and restore order. Population Eleamor recently suffered a devastating plague that killed a large portion of its population. Many people also abandoned heavily affected and impoverished areas in search of safer and more prosperous places, leaving numerous settlements partially or completely depopulated. Finances The royal treasury is almost completely depleted, while the crown is burdened by significant debts accumulated under the previous administration. Reduced population, economic decline, and limited royal control have also caused tax revenues to fall. Military Eleamor's military was once a formidable and highly respected force, known for elite training, discipline, and effectiveness. Years of decline have reduced it to little more than a small militia that is poorly equipped and inadequately trained. The Capital The capital was once a wealthy and prosperous city and the political and economic heart of Eleamor. The plague and prolonged decline have left large parts of the city depopulated and ruined, while its once-important walls have fallen into severe disrepair. Economy Each province traditionally specializes in producing specific goods and resources, creating an interconnected economy. The fragmentation of Eleamor has severely disrupted these connections, with local restrictions, tariffs, tolls, and insecure trade routes making goods more difficult and expensive to move between provinces. The Four Ministers The crown's principal advisers Halliwin Minister of the Treasury Responsible for the royal treasury, taxation, expenditures, debts, and sources of crown revenue. With the treasury nearly empty, his foremost responsibility is restoring the financial stability of the crown and finding ways to fund the kingdom's recovery. Tameria Minister of War Responsible for the army, recruitment, training, supplies, fortifications, and the deployment of forces. With Eleamor's military greatly diminished, her role is central to rebuilding the kingdom's ability to defend itself. Falton Minister of the Interior Responsible for officials, infrastructure, law and order, and the relationship between the crown and the provinces. His work is vital to restoring the administrative reach and authority of the crown. Halric Minister of the Crown Responsible for external affairs, diplomacy, treaties, intelligence, and communications with foreign powers. He also serves as a political adviser to the crown. The Provinces of Eleamor Ten provinces, ten rulers, and a kingdom divided by distance and authority. Central Eleamor Crown Controlled The historical heart of Eleamor, containing the capital and the main center of crown authority, administration, manufacturing, trade, and governance. Central Eleamor depends heavily on the other provinces for many natural resources. Northermere Highlord Edwin — North A mountainous and harsh province with sparse settlements. Northermere produces iron, coal, and other ores, along with hardy livestock. It is naturally defensible and known for disciplined mountain soldiers. Its Highlord is Edwin, You's brother. Vadia Highlady Samena — Northwest A hilly province known for grazing, sheep, and wool production. It contributes livestock and wool to the wider economy. Lightsholme Highlady Isanelle — Northeast A coastal province focused on fishing, shipbuilding, salt production, and maritime trade. Western Rivermarch Highlord Aelfred — East A densely populated province that was once united with Eastern Rivermarch. It suffered major population losses during the plague and is known as a center of learning, with schools, libraries, and accumulated knowledge. Eastern Rivermarch Highlord Aelward — East A densely populated province that was once united with Western Rivermarch. It suffered heavy plague losses and is an important center of trade and banking, with rivers and the Marchers Bridge supporting commerce. Greenvale Highlord Fram — Southeast The agricultural heartland of Eleamor, producing grain, fruit from orchards, vineyards, and livestock. Its output is essential to feeding the kingdom and supporting trade. Silverwell Highlord Arden — South A southern mountainous province known for its silver mines. Riders Reaches Highlady Olanra — Southwest A southwestern province centered on horse breeding and ranching. It is a major source of warhorses and supports Eleamor's cavalry tradition. Orkendale Highlord Throwen — West A western province dominated by forests, producing timber, lumber, and other wood products. The Road Ahead Eleamor will not recover quickly. Its authority must be rebuilt, its finances restored, its military strengthened, its provinces brought back into a functioning realm, and its people given reason to believe in the crown once again. The fate of Eleamor now rests in the hands of You. Rise of a Kingdom — Kingdom of Eleamor

Opening scene

The great bells of the capital rang across the city as the doors to the Royal Hall slowly opened. Nobles, officials, knights, and clergy stood in silence as You entered the chamber. At the far end, beneath the ancient banners of Eleamor, stood the empty throne of King Baldwin. Before it waited the **Four Ministers**. Halliwin Coldwell stood beside the royal treasury officials, a sealed ledger tucked beneath his arm. Even during the coronation, his attention was on the Crown's finances. The ceremony itself had been carefully budgeted, and his expression made it clear that every expense had been accounted for. Tameria Ironhand stood in light armor beside a formation of royal guards. Her eyes moved constantly across the hall, judging the soldiers' discipline and readiness. To her, the ceremony was not merely tradition—it was the first public demonstration that the Crown still possessed the strength to protect its realm. Falton Ashwick stood near the royal officials and provincial representatives. He had spent the morning ensuring that every legal requirement of the succession had been followed. Now his sharp eyes moved across the assembled nobles, quietly noting who bowed willingly, who hesitated, and who might challenge the new monarch's authority. Halric Brightwater stood closest to the ceremonial dais, dressed in elaborate court attire. He had organized the dignitaries, the clergy, the heralds, and the diplomatic representatives. Every detail had been arranged to project the image of an orderly and legitimate Crown. As You approached, the four ministers stepped forward together. Halliwin presented the **Royal Ledger**, symbolizing the Crown's authority over the kingdom's finances. Tameria presented the **Royal Sword**, symbolizing the Crown's duty to defend Eleamor. Falton presented the **Seal of Eleamor**, symbolizing the authority to govern and enforce the laws of the realm. Finally, Halric presented the **Crown**, the ultimate symbol of royal sovereignty. Falton raised his voice. “Your Majesty. By the laws and traditions of Eleamor, the Crown is yours.” The crown was placed upon You's head. For a moment, the hall was completely silent. Then the bells rang again. **You was now the ruler of Eleamor.** The ministers bowed once more. Halliwin was the first to rise. “Your Majesty,” he said carefully, “now that the coronation is complete... may I ask what you intend to do about the treasury?” The question hung over the silent hall. The reign had begun. And there would be little time to celebrate.
