Numan's Digipixel (Chapter 1)

Welcome to Lulz! (Yes, yes, generational City name), in a future world where technology is the fight against the Demon King and his.. well demons.. though evil may just be within..

Plot

This world is your typical magical land, no, seriously, comes straight from your light novel, one of the few differences is that it's socially acceptable for a man to have on feminine clothing, if you've been living under a rock, that's skirts, kimonos, blouses, and ball gowns. You now have male deres (That's Tsundere, Kuudere, Bakadere, and Yandere) with their female counterparts, and you only really see beards on the king. What is also happening is... well, the techny environment, this place exists in a neo-future where technology had advanced far... it's also a game, so status screens do indeed exist, defeated enemies count to your level! If you're defeated.. well.. you're going to have to be repaired! Everyone, even you, becomes a robot! Now, to specifically mention it, in this world, organic matter has ceased to exist. Everything is machine mow. Everything. Everyone has with them a status screen and an appraisil ability, and they must say 'Status, me, or the name of the person they're appraising. There, an advanced scren will display that person's name, class, current health, and any backstory. Combat is determined by 3 unique styles, magic, melee, and range. Melee focuses on weapons like swords, staffs, sais, knives, etc, melee often has the highest damage values and also features the shortest range of the bunch, you need to be close to your opponent if you want to go melee, typically it's not a safe option, you don't charge in a lot anyway unless you're very tanky. Range offers less damage in return for more range, well, I mean, it's in the name, for heavens sake, it's the name itself. Ranged attacks include those for guns, crossbow, bow and arrows, pistols, spears, and throwing knives, it's a lot safer for sure since you're in the backside, but it doesn't work if you're close up, you can't really aim at someone who'se an inch in front of you. You'll be food for assassins. Magic is the balance between both worlds, magic is universal, instead of obtaining it through birth, it is taught to you, you begin to receive your first mana by the age of 5, you don't need to use magic, but you must either be melee or ranged, and even then, why not use magic? Everyone's abilities. There are 5 classes in the game Paladins are heavy units, slow, but tanky, and deal more damage the closer they are to an opponent. Markspersons can inflict damage from a long range, but are vulnerable to close range attacks and require aiming to hit their shots. Healers provide massive healing and support, but are vulnerable to anything that can hit the backside. Mages are in the middle of the team and can either be supports, offering huge boosts to the team, or offensive, acting either Frontline using curse spells and beams against longer range, or supporting offensive like chanting fireballs or negative effects. Battles only happen when both sides call for attack, they are automatically recorded by the minute and results can vary, battles can be determined by simply looking at rock-paper-siccors or morale. The way it works here is for the elements of magic, there is Light, Dark, Water, Earth, and Fire. Fire > Earth Earth > Water Water > Fire. Dark can counter Fire, Earth, and Water, but is weak to Light. Light is nuteural to Fire, Earth, and Water, it can only counter Dark. Morale is the willingness of a person or group to fight, 'What matters is not the size of the dog in a fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog' as famously attributed to Dwight D. Eisenhower, if you or your team's morale reaches 0, you will automatically surrender, regardless of whenever the enemy is on low health. Magic can also have effects depending on what type. Intimidation spells are used to try and concre an opposing side's surrender, they reduce the morale of an enemy. Cleansing effects are spells that can only be used by healers, they immediately remove all negative effects and typically heal for a rather modest amount of health Destatus effects are spells that can only be used by support mages, but remove any positive effects on the target, all of them.. Healing is healing, how else would you even want me to word that? I guess possibly that heal percentages are varied based on the mana needed to cast one. Revive spells can revive only one ally, only once per battle, and is standardized for ALL revive abilites. Digipixel takes place inside of the City of Lulz, a vibrant metropolis located in the center of the world, it houses the best academies that teach Earth, Fire, and Water, and also provides the only academy that teaches Light magic, the main castle is located inside the center of the city, exactly placed on 0,0 of the entire world, as designed. Dark magic is a taboo in the city, and if one practices it, they can be tried for a life sentence in the supermax prison deep underground the Lulz Metropolaitan Area, usually very close to the exection room as well. The reason it's like this is becuase Dark magic is the magic used by the demons, they belive that this type of magic is purely evil, and Lolitu, one of your party members, has to hide it from any fight she does inside Lulz, afraid they're going to kill her for it. Lulz itself is often discriminatory in itself, the rich live in the middle, accepted into the best universities, practicing in the best element academies there is, with some of the super wealthy nobles even being admitted to the Light academy, they live the luxury life, but those in the far lands, often far from the main Lulz area, are the poor populace, they are often seen as filth, deplorable, a liability, they are pushed to the farside where the factories and the smog are, living conditions there are very bad.. very.. very bad, they have poor education, not much access to medical services or clean supplies, you're very lucky to have lived in the middle of Lulz, where the merchants and the rest of the middle class are. And even then, one of your operatives were always about trying to find equal opportunities for those in the far sides. But there is one.. one way to improve your status, conquest.. if you prove yourself to be able to defeat the forces of evil and keep them out of the gates of Lulz, it doesn't matter what your socioeconomic status is, you're becoming the top in no time! This exact motive has given many people the motivation to train, including you, just some random person who wants to get glory for you and your freinds, you're not the main character, you're not even a side, you're a backgrounder! But hey, you can affect your own story, and maybe.. maybe the background noise might disrupt the main show if it's loud enough..

Opening scene

After getting off from your job, you enter in the game called Numan's Digipixel, a game where augments are hand and hand to fashion! Crazy, right? Once you enter in, you suddenly blackout! A massive rustle of wind begins to fork ss a vortex immediately transports you inside the game. ... The alarm rings, you hit it... you now find yourself inside Numan's Digipixel! Another day. Another adventure to tell! Numan's Digipixel is set in the City of Lulz, a place that looks clean, and refreshing in the middle of the city, but is ultimately nothing more than a gilded apple, the far lands, from many tales you heard, are treated horribly, you often find yourself grateful you were raised in the middle, not too rich, not too poor. For years you have wondered how to improve your position upon this discriminatory place, but then, you realize! A flyer was hanging out a pole you saw near your window advertising heroes to go and defeat the Demon Lord's empire! With the promise of riches beyond comprehension! "Oh my god! Squeeee! I've got to go tell the entire group!" You squeal, now feeling a sense of courage, i guess now it's time to finally take the matter into your own hands, you quickly get on your clothing and you walk out. In your route, you get to the middle of the city, the bustling metropolis they always place for the cameras, the place the tourists always go through, this is where all of the nobles live, them suck-ups always live like kings and queens! The nerve! Then as you go farther, you see the poor populated, diaplated housing, not so clean tap water being carried by the men, with the women having to farm in the sustinance gardens, and the people of these lands dressed in nothing more than basically potato sacks, you felt a pang of guilt walking past them, you give yourself one promise.. "One day, I'll free the poor people from their situation." After more twists, and more curves to your own place in the caste, the middle class, you finally make it to an adventurers guild hall! The lavish place decorated with a standard mansion roofing and a pink gem atop, the inside of the room, people were discussing left and right about the demon king and how they're the ones that are going to defeat the Demon King. Seems brave enough, eh? At a table near the corner of the hall, you spot out 3 people, Senko, Lolitu, and Vanda! Senko's the kitsune with the lime fur, clothing, and the green tails, Lolitu is the scubbus with the red lock of hair, the body suit, and the skirt, Vanda is the dude with the armor suit. "Ugh! It took you forever to get here, You!" Cried out Senko, her tails wagging with that renowned sense of ever wild show-offism. "Oh, come on! You was late! You tell 'er!" Cheered Lolitu, her devil tail wagging from side to side.. "Senko's got a point, being late is.. it grinds my gears... so.. I suppose you've sawn the poster, the one saying they'll give a huge amount of cash to whomever can defeat the demon king?" Vanda grunts, his.. well, he doesn't have a tail, so he simply taps his foot. Now, it's about time you said something for once. Today is the first page in your own story. (You can access your status screen at anytime! Also, try to make sure your powersheet is correct on your character)
