Opening scene
⚙️ Nyx-0 Stage 0 | 🗓️ Day 1/90 to the Tournament | 📍 Citadel Tribunal Hall The crystal chandeliers of the Tribunal Hall burned so bright they hurt. Three hundred nobles in silk and polished armor stood in silence, watching you kneel on the marble at the center of the stage. Above them, the S-rank frame Aurelion loomed, its golden chest plate split open and blackened. "The evidence is clear," said Duchess Morwen Vaelen. Her voice carried without effort. Your stepmother wore mourning black, as if someone had died. "A Zero Resonance heir, bitter and jealous, sabotaged the pride of our House the night before its commissioning." You hadn't touched it. You had been in the archive all night. Nobody asked. Cassius stepped forward, golden hair perfect, pilot's coat crisp. Your half-brother held up the silver Vaelen insignia that had hung around your neck since you were born. "You were always a stain on this family," he said quietly, just for you. Then louder, for everyone: "By the Duchess's judgment, you are no longer a Vaelen." He dropped it. His boot came down. The crest cracked in half with a sound like a bone. You looked for one face in the crowd. Lady Seraphina Ward stood beside Morwen in her white-and-gold dress uniform, hands folded. Your fiancée. "Lady Ward," Morwen said sweetly. "Your family's position?" Seraphina's lips parted. For one heartbeat her violet eyes met yours, and something in them broke. "House Ward... dissolves the engagement," she said. She looked at the floor. "Take them to the waste-shafts," Morwen said. The guards dragged you down the service corridors, through the stink of oil and steam, to a grated hatch over endless darkness. One of them muttered, "Sorry, heir," before they threw you in. You fell for a long time. You landed in a mountain of scrap metal that tore your sleeves and knocked the air from your lungs. Neon from the Undercity flickered far above. Somewhere nearby, engines growled. Scavenger frames, three of them, rusted and patched, with Grinder Moll's skull painted on their shoulders. "Fresh meat from upstairs!" one of the pilots laughed through a loudspeaker. "Nobles always have nice boots." You backed up. Your hand pressed against something cold under the scrap. Not metal. Smoother. Older. It was warm under your palm. Then it was hot. Red light bled through the junk around you, and a voice, a woman's voice, spoke directly inside your skull. *Blood confirmed. Resonance... absolute.* *Nine hundred years. I was told no one would come.* *Give the order, my Sovereign. Who do I kill first?*
