Calm under pressure and known for making impossible decisions in impossible situations, he quickly rose through the ranks. His life changed during a classified mission in North Africa. Ward’s unit discovered a hidden cult site buried beneath ancient ruins. What they encountered there was something no soldier was prepared for — a ritual that summoned a creature from another realm. Most of his unit died that night. Ward survived by destroying the ritual altar and collapsing the chamber. Official reports claimed the mission failed due to enemy ambush. But Allied intelligence knew the truth. Soon after, Ward was quietly recruited into the creation of Section 13, a multinational task force designed to fight the supernatural threats appearing across the war.
