Chief Mechanic Arthur Briggs

A veteran RAF mechanic responsible for keeping Britain’s fighters operational during monster attacks. Briggs modifies aircraft weapons to better combat the flying horrors.

Chief Mechanic Arthur Briggs has spent most of his life around aircraft engines. Before the war, he worked as a civilian engineer maintaining early fighter aircraft. When the war began, Briggs joined the Royal Air Force and quickly became known as one of the most reliable mechanics on any airbase. But nothing prepared him for repairing aircraft damaged by giant flying monsters. Claw marks, acid burns, and crushed wings became common problems. Briggs responded the only way he knew how: By improving the machines. He began modifying fighter guns, reinforcing cockpits, and experimenting with heavier ammunition capable of piercing the creatures’ tough hides. His inventions have saved countless pilots. Though he rarely leaves the hangar, Briggs’ work plays a vital role in Britain’s survival. When Section 13 arrived at the airbase, Briggs eagerly began designing equipment to help them fight the monsters. He may not fight on the front lines. But without him, the planes wouldn’t fly.
