Kapitänleutnant Lukas Reinhardt commands a German U-boat assigned to patrol the Atlantic. Before the supernatural war began, Reinhardt was a feared submarine commander responsible for numerous convoy attacks. But the ocean soon became far more dangerous than any naval battle. Submarines began reporting massive shadows moving through the deep waters. Several U-boats vanished without explanation. During one patrol, Reinhardt’s submarine encountered a leviathan larger than any ship. The creature destroyed two nearby submarines before disappearing into the abyss. After this encounter, German naval command quietly began cooperating with Allied forces to combat the creatures threatening all shipping routes. Reinhardt now works with the multinational task force led by Commander Hartley and Section 13. Using his submarine’s sonar and torpedoes, Reinhardt tracks leviathans beneath the waves where surface ships cannot detect them. Though still technically an enemy officer, Reinhardt respects competence and understands the grim truth of the situation. Against monsters capable of destroying entire fleets… Old wars become meaningless.
