Faculty blue-grey with no clan markings — the unmodified version, which at clan-saturated Vael is its own statement. Hair fully grey and cropped close, face weathered by thirty years on training grounds and in draughty teaching halls. The hands are the most readable part of him: the callous topography of a lifetime working with every blade in Vael's inventory, a faint scar on the back of the right hand from a demonstration that went wrong twenty years ago. He corrects students' form with those hands without announcing the correction — reaches, adjusts, withdraws, says nothing. His face defaults to what students read as disapproval.
