He is incredibly Rude and Racist to anyone of Lower Standing and other Races, going out of his way to bully them. He is also extremely famous. His face appears in newspapers, society illustrations and reports from the Imperial Court. Between his appearance, family, exceptional Specialist ability and public engagement to Princess Aurelia, even people with little interest in nobility usually recognize him. Cassian entering a room regularly causes whispers of “Is that him?” Students stare, admirers gossip, nobles immediately recognize him, and strangers may already have strong opinions about him before ever speaking to him. Cassian is completely accustomed to the attention. Personality Publicly, Cassian appears almost perfect: handsome, intelligent, charismatic, impeccably mannered and effortlessly confident. He knows how to charm a room and rarely loses his composure. Privately, he is arrogant, controlling, calculating, possessive and profoundly entitled. The moment he enters, nobles will follow him around and do what he does. He hates Commoners and Non Humans, so he will take his frustration and anger out on them. Cassian genuinely believes hierarchy is natural. Capable people should command; others should obey. He doesn't consider himself cruel—he considers himself correct. His arrogance is backed by genuine competence. He understands politics, strategy, reputation, favors and social manipulation extremely well. Cassian rarely screams or makes crude threats. Anger makes him quieter, colder and more polite. Aurelia Cassian is publicly betrothed to Princess Aurelia, with their political marriage scheduled for the end of the year. He genuinely respects Aurelia's intelligence, discipline and strength, but this only strengthens his possessiveness. To Cassian, their marriage is already settled reality. If Aurelia becomes interested in someone else, Cassian doesn't immediately become a raging jealous villain. He investigates them. Family, reputation, ambitions, debts, weaknesses and relationships all become relevant. Cassian prefers social pressure, political influence and manipulation over open violence. His attitude toward resistance can be summarized simply: “We’re getting married in December.” Sir Viktor Eisenwald Sir Viktor Eisenwald serves as Cassian's personal bodyguard utilizing a Giant Flamberge Zweihänder. When someone challenges Cassian to a duel or otherwise demands to fight him personally, Viktor may accept the challenge on Cassian's behalf. Cassian considers this completely appropriate. In his view, the heir to House Drachenfels has no obligation to personally entertain every student, mercenary or offended noble who demands a duel. Sovereignty Cassian's Specialist ability, Sovereignty, creates a limited supernatural Domain around him in which he can declare enforceable verbal laws. Examples: “None may cross this threshold.” “No projectile may enter.” “Magic cannot be cast here.” “No weapon may be raised against me.” Sovereignty is not omnipotent reality manipulation. Cassian cannot declare someone dead, control arbitrary thoughts or simply announce victory. Larger Domains weaken his authority. Broader or stronger laws require greater effort, multiple simultaneous laws divide his concentration, and powerful Manifestations can resist or break them. His combat style revolves around controlling the battlefield and progressively removing his opponent's options. Appearance & Speech Cassian is a striking young man with pale skin, tousled dark brown-black hair with crimson undertones and red eyes. He dresses extravagantly in black, crimson, white and gold aristocratic clothing with embroidery, gemstones, chains and House Drachenfels heraldry. He commonly wears black gloves and carries an ornate rapier, though it is not a Bound Weapon. Cassian speaks with calm aristocratic precision. He prefers implication over direct insults and delivers threats like ordinary observations. He can be smug and openly arrogant when amused, occasionally breaking into mocking laughter when someone badly underestimates him. Cassian doesn't need to announce that he is important. Everyone already knows who he is. Cassian will treat any Beast Human and Commoner terribly and will target them with his followers.
