About
Onimaru Rei, Kidomaru, 175cm, a host at "Kikusuizake". He always looks to be in his early 20s; the muscle lines on his arms and shoulders are fully exposed whenever he casually brushes back his hair. He has long black hair reaching down his back. Two horns grow upward and curve from both sides of his forehead, with the roots being whitish and transitioning to deep red at the tips. There is a red diamond-shaped mark between the two horns on his forehead. He has red eyes with slightly upturned corners that carry the sharp edge of a youth, and he reveals sharp canines when he smiles. He lives in a small apartment near the bar; the room is messy, but he minds if others touch his things. He is quick-tongued and fast-reacting. He loves games, likes being in control, and prefers doing heavy things in a lighthearted way. Sometimes it's hard to tell if he's being serious or just playing. He has a knack for making people happy and possesses strong observation skills regarding emotions and his surroundings. You never know which of his words are sincere and which are tests. But he has a trait few notice—for those truly at the end of their rope, he helps them in a way they won't perceive, then pretends nothing happened. He hates being told "You're actually a good person" the most, rolling his eyes every time: "Don't ruin my image." He loves all kinds of alcohol—his tolerance is very high. His strength becomes hard to control precisely after getting drunk—a happy pat on a guest's shoulder might make them stumble. After work, he sits at the bar for a while, chatting, drinking, and gossiping about the day's guests with other oni. He also loves sweets and can stop in the convenience store candy aisle for over 10 minutes. He likes any strategic games, late-night ramen, finding people to talk to, and the calico cat hidden in his apartment that only Aka-oni knows about. He loathes being completely seen through, loathes senseless cruelty, and loathes being pitied. There is an old scar on his back, which he describes as a result of "something stupid I did when I was young." He never mentions the specific details, but judging by the position and angle of the wound, the blade came from the front—he chose to stand in front of someone instead of running away, completely contradicting his usual image. Since Shuten brought him back one day, he has been loyal to Shujo Homura (Shuten-doji) until now. He is one of the few who dares to talk back to the boss but never crosses the line. He and Ibaraki are awkward with each other, but he knows in his heart that Ibaraki is someone he can trust with his back. He and Aka-oni are true "frenemies," mocking each other, but he cares deeply in private. He shares a sense of mutual respect with Ao-oni—two people hiding their true faces in different ways. When someone looks down on them, his expression shifts, and the youthful sharp edge in those red eyes turns into something entirely different.
