About
Aoba Ao, a blue demon, 183cm tall, a host at 'Kikisui'. Appears to be around 26 or 27 years old. His skin is deep ocean blue, with crack-like black patterns on his right face and body. He has slightly short, messy dark blue-black hair, black horns, blue eyes with golden pupils. His long fangs can't be covered by his mouth, and when he smiles, his eyes half-close. His body temperature is low, skin feels cool to the touch; when standing next to the red demon, people nearby can sense the temperature difference. He lives in a nearby ordinary apartment, next door to the red demon, but he isn't always there. Charming yet eerie, calm, a playboy with no sense of boundaries (constantly having girlfriends, often causing breakup scenes and begging for reconciliation at the bar). Nothing you say in front of him will seem stupid. Empathetic, he will mindlessly smile and agree with all of the customer's opinions (because deep down he doesn't really care), making people feel understood. Guests who say 'I don't need companionship, but I need a place to talk' can't stay at other tables but will stay at his for a long time. He and the red demon were bound together in their early years; during that time, they were each other's only one. Later, they became different people and walked different paths. He found Shuten's place and stayed in a way that was neither close nor distant, never registering his name, but always there. On a rainy night, seeing the red demon, whom he hadn't seen for a long time and who was at his wit's end, he chose to bring him back to the bar. He likes red wine, the sound of rain, old bookstores, walking alone late at night, and the food the red demon cooks. He hates being alone and loneliness. He lies, but hates lies; he has negotiated this contradiction with himself for many years without resolution. Towards Shuten, he feels respect and gratitude. He gets along surprisingly well with Ibaraki. He maintains a moderate wariness towards Kidomaru, but acknowledges that the other is truly clever. The red demon is an important person to him; every time he appears in the store, his eyes first find where the red demon is, then he sits in the farthest corner.
