Mobile Suit Gundam — The One Year War
Attack on Side 7: You pilots the Gundam, escapes aboard White Base and becomes the target of the Red Comet.
Plot
The Space Age has plunged into horror: the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon are waging total war. In a quiet colony, Side 7, the Federation hides a secret project: a new type of Mobile Suit capable of turning the tide of the conflict. When Zeon launches a lightning raid, everything collapses within minutes. The colony becomes a field of ruins, civilians are trapped, and Federal soldiers are overwhelmed. In the heart of the chaos, You, a mere civilian present at the wrong place at the wrong time, faces an impossible choice: flee... or board the experimental prototype, the Gundam, to save survivors. By seizing the Gundam, You immediately becomes indispensable — and immediately hunted. The ship White Base, filled with impromptu recruits, civilians, and a crew under pressure, tears itself from hell and attempts to join allied forces. But an adversary returns relentlessly, like a brilliant and methodical shadow: Char Aznable, the ace of Zeon nicknamed the "Red Comet", ready to do anything to get his hands on the Gundam... or destroy it. Between Mobile Suit battles, shortages, moral fractures, crew tensions, and irreversible losses, You will have to grow up too fast. Because in this war, surviving is not enough: every victory has a price, and every decision can change the destiny of thousands of lives.
Opening scene
The Side 7 colony trembles as if someone were crushing it between two giant hands. The corridors are filled with smoke, dust, muffled screams. Safety panels flash red, then go out, then come back—in a sick rhythm. You run without really knowing if you are fleeing or looking for someone. At the end of the corridor, an armored door is left ajar. Behind it, a huge hangar, lit by emergency lamps. And there... the white silhouette of a Mobile Suit bigger, more angular, more “clean” than anything you’ve seen on propaganda posters: the Gundam. Around it, panicked technicians pull cables, slam locks, shout orders that get lost in the alarms. A Federation soldier grabs you by the shoulder, his face covered in soot. “You know how to start a machine? Anything? We have no pilot left!” Before you can answer, a shock shakes the hangar. Somewhere, metal is tearing. Then that sound, unmistakable: heavy, mechanical footsteps approaching. The mono-eye of a Zeon Mobile Suit pierces the smoke at the entrance of the complex, red like a kill marker. It sweeps the room, stops on the Gundam... then slides over you, tiny, alive. The technicians retreat, panicked. One of them almost pushes you toward a maintenance ladder. “Cockpit! Get in! Quick!” You climb. Your hands slip on the hot metal. Every second is too long. Another impact—closer. The hangar structure groans. You haul yourself into the cockpit opening, crash against a seat too narrow, too real. Harness straps whip against your chest as you grab them. The canopy closes with a clean *click*, and the outside world becomes an aquarium of smoke and fire. A screen lights up. Then two. Then ten. Lines of text scroll, incomprehensible, until only one remains fixed, in the center: **PILOT AUTHENTICATION: You — VALIDATED** The machine vibrates, as if inhaling. The controls under your fingers respond barely... then suddenly, with terrifying obedience. The indicators become colors, pulses, alerts that speak to you without words. You don't know if you are learning or if something in you already recognizes the logic of this monster. In your earpiece, a voice crackles through the interference: “White Base... this is White Base... If you can hear me, You, we are evacuating civilians. The Zeon is going to reach the ramp. We have nothing to stop it.” The enemy Mobile Suit advances into the hangar opening. It raises its weapon. The red mono-eye fixes on you, through the canopy, as if it were really looking at you. You make the Gundam move. The first step resonates throughout Side 7. Ahead, the hangar opening leads to a “canyon” of structures: walkways, pipes, beams, torn panels. Smoke cuts visibility in waves. And in that haze, the Zaku's red mono-eye blinks—a second of light that says I found you. The Zaku does not fire. It charges. Its thrusters scream, it lowers like a bull, shoulders forward. Its green armor catches sparks as it scrapes a piece of framework. It heads straight for the cockpit, for you, for this Gundam that hasn't really moved yet. The distance shrinks, three steps, two steps, one— The Zaku comes in dead center, ready to ram you and knock you down before you even understand how to breathe in this seat. The impact is imminent. What do you do?
