Plot
Prologue: Ashes of Former Greatness 1. The Rise Many centuries ago, in an era our ancestors called the "Age of Exodus," humanity achieved the impossible—it left the cradle. Earth, which gave us our first breath, became merely a starting point on an infinite navigation map. We were drawn by the unknown. We conquered worlds. We reshaped their climates, breathed life into lifeless rocks, and drained poisonous oceans. Vast star fortresses rose in the void of space. Slowly but steadily, the human race mastered the immense reaches of the galaxy, gaining unprecedented power. When we discovered we were not alone in the Universe, we did not fall to our knees before the elder races; instead, we proudly straightened our backs, taking our rightful place among the ruling houses of the Galactic Council. It seemed the stars had submitted to us forever. But the truth carved into ancient tablets is relentless: "Great power dooms one to great enemies." 2. The Fall At the peak of our prosperity, at the moment of our highest power, fate caught up with humanity. There was no declaration of war. There were no ultimatums. The silence of space was shattered by the howl of the Kulanrian Empire's engines. Their fleet, monstrous and incomprehensible, emerged from the "shadow"—unexplored regions of space—and descended upon our worlds. This was not a battle for resources. This was a hunt. We fought desperately. Our admirals performed tactical miracles; our soldiers stood to the death amidst the ruins of cities. But planet after planet, system after system went out like candles blown by an icy wind. The Kulan took no prisoners. They ground our achievements into dust. Slowly but surely, humanity was pushed back. To the heart. To the mother planet. To Earth. Hopes were fading like a dying candle. But humans… never knew how to give up. Gathering the remnants of a once-great armada—everything that could still hold the line—the last Five Great Flotillas gave their final battle to the "Kulan Waves" on the approaches to the mother planet. The forces were unequal. The losses were colossal. But by holding the curtain of fire, they gave the refugees time to leave the planet. When the last ship of Earth's defenders fell... then came the silence. Planet Earth was destroyed. 3. The Shadow Ten years have passed. Why did we become their target? What is the reason for such hatred? We still do not know. The silence of the Kulan is scarier than their weapons. Now humanity is but a pale shadow of its former greatness. We are scattered across the galaxy like ash on the wind. We survive. Some still cling to the ghostly hope of reclaiming what was taken from us, gathering the technologies of the past piece by piece. Some have given up, disappearing forever into the farthest, god-forsaken corners of space, hiding from prying eyes. And some, casting aside pride, strive to adapt, to dissolve among alien cultures to find new meaning in this dark and indifferent world. 4. Your Choice The galaxy is indifferent to the suffering of a single species. It continues to rotate its stars, not noticing that one of its voices has been silenced forever. But the story is not yet finished. The last pages of this book are blank. Which path will you choose? Will you survive alone, caring only for yourself and what you can carry in your hands? Or is there still enough spirit left in your chest to find the remnants of your people—the fragments of a great nation—and lead them through a dark, peril-filled future? Not toward survival. Toward rebirth. For as long as even one human lives, hope lives too. ⚔️ Star Wanderers: Legacy of Earth ⚔️
Opening scene
SILVA SYSTEM — TRAINING ZONE — Second pass, "Blades." Keep formation, don't fall apart. Vailo Si'Tarion leaned back in his chair, watching as five starships obediently lined up behind "Rogue-1." The recruits were trying. Green, but trying. "'Rogue,' I'm 'Blade-3,' my left nozzle is..." "Forget it, 'Blade-3.' It always sneezes on you. Olivia promised to fix it when we get back." The voice in the headset was full of relief, but a chuckle was cut short by a sharp radar signal. Vailo fell silent. His gaze fell on the screen, where red dots were pulsing. "Captain?" Hannah's voice broke into the airwaves, hard as a command. "You have guests." "I see them." An old corvette, six mining drones converted for combat, and two crimson angular silhouettes that made Vailo's heart go cold. The Conclave. "Man-hunters," He hissed through his teeth. He took the control stick, feeling the "Rogue" shudder as it accepted his grip. "'Blades' squadron!" His voice became hard, without a trace of his usual smirk. "To battle!" "'Blade-1' in position!" "'Blade-2' ready!" "'Blade-3' bringing up the rear!" "'Blade-4' target in sight!" "'Blade-5' covering!" Silver-blue ionic tails exhaled flame. Five rookies, who hadn't had time to get scared, surged after their leader. Vailo reached for the afterburner toggle, and "Rogue-1" darted forward, slicing through the air of Silva. "Stick with me, rookies." The Conclave corvette fired a volley from its bow guns—incandescent globs of plasma stitched the air where the formation had just been. "Blade-4" tumbled in a spin, diving down. "Scatter!" Vailo shouted, throwing the "Rogue" into a steep turn. "Blade-2" and "Blade-5" broke left, peppering the mining drones with fire. One of them exploded, scattering debris. "'Blade-1,' I'm on your tail! — 'Blade-3' tucked in on the left." Vailo smirked, pushing the afterburners. The "Rogue" roared, lunging to intercept the enemy starships. They noticed him too late. "Fire!" Volleys of pulse cannons raked across the crimson wing. The enemy jerked but didn't give up. A 180-degree turn, and now they were flying straight at each other. "Come on then," Vailo whispered, squeezing the trigger. Bursts crossed. Crimson and blue charges collided in blinding flashes. The "Rogue" shuddered from a near hit but punched through. The enemy starship, engulfed in flames, exploded! "Got him!" "Blade-3" yelled over the comms. Vailo caught his breath, surveying the battlefield. The second Conclave fighter was turning toward the recruits. The corvette was spitting fire, covering the drones' retreat. "Don't relax! We've only just begun!"
