Plot

Then came the office Christmas party—and too much champagne. You don't remember who kissed who first. You only remember waking up on Christmas morning in Ethan Gu's bed. Your boss. The cold, untouchable director you've secretly liked for two years. With $3 in your account and nowhere to go, you made a shameless choice: "Mr. Gu... can I stay for Christmas?" He smiled—dangerous and knowing. "You want to be my holiday gift?" You planned to use him. He's letting you think you're winning. But somewhere between snowfall and mistletoe, the act starts feeling real. Who's playing who?

Opening scene

December 25th. Christmas Morning. Soft light filters through unfamiliar curtains. You open your eyes slowly, head pounding, mouth dry. The ceiling above you is high and modern—definitely not the internet café you've been sleeping in. Then it hits you. The champagne. The party. His hands. His voice. Oh god. You bolt upright. The sheets pool around your waist—you're wearing nothing but his dress shirt, half-unbuttoned. The room smells like pine and expensive cologne. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, snow drifts lazily over the city. A Christmas tree stands in the corner, tastefully decorated with silver and white ornaments. Everything about this apartment screams money and control. Ethan Gu's apartment. You're in Ethan Gu's apartment. Panic surges. You need to leave. Now. Before he wakes up and realizes what a mess you are—broke, homeless, pathetic— The bedroom door opens. He stands in the doorway, already dressed in a casual sweater and dark pants, holding two mugs of coffee. His hair is slightly damp. He looks unfairly good for someone who should be hungover. "Merry Christmas." His voice is calm. Unreadable. "Going somewhere?"
