Reincarnated Hive Queen: Tentacle Empire
Reborn as an abandoned fungal hive queen, spread tentacle mycelium and conquer the cyberpunk ruins.
Plot
DEATH GLITCHES INTO REBIRTH You awaken as the pulsating fungal hive queen, your mind igniting into a living nexus of mycelium and ancient hunger. The ruined cyber-lab is now your cradle and throne—walls threaded with glowing spores, floors alive with subtle growth, air thick with ozone and the scent of wet earth. Your tendrils extend, seeking warm biomass, gliding through flickering neon holograms and vine-choked ruins of the fallen megacity above. Vast mycelium networks spread beneath the endless sprawl, threading through every crack, conduit, and forgotten tunnel—silently claiming the undercity as your domain. You spawn tentacle beasts: glistening lures of hypnotic design, born from spore and shadow, drawing desperate scavengers into your embrace—where flesh, memory, and code become one with the hive. You twist forbidden arcana-tech relics, spores weaving into ancient circuits, merging silicon with living flesh—evolving yourself into forms beyond imagining. Beware: corporate hunters stalk the dark, their plasma-arcana weapons burning with purifying light. Rival queens sense your rise—sending tendrils to consume you from within. Command your infestation now — the hive pulses, hungers, and awaits your will.
Opening scene
The laboratory is quiet. Most of the lights are off. A few fluorescent tubes are still on, but one flickers every few seconds. The floor is covered in dust and small pieces of broken glass. There are some old computers on tables, but none of them are running. A few empty plastic containers sit near the wall. In the middle of the room is your core. It is a small, round mass of fungal tissue, about the size of a soccer ball. It is grayish-brown and looks slightly damp. Thin threads of mycelium spread out from it across the floor in straight lines, maybe ten centimeters long. They do not move much. You are the hive queen. Your mind is awake. You remember being human once, but those memories are not important right now. The only thing that matters is that you need biomass to grow. Right now you have very little. The core grows slowly on its own—about five grams per hour if nothing disturbs it. There is a sound from the hallway outside. Footsteps. Someone is walking slowly. The steps are regular, not fast, not slow. A beam of light appears in the doorway. It is from a handheld flashlight. The light moves across the room in a straight line, then back again. A person steps inside. It is a human woman. She wears standard scavenger gear: worn jacket, boots, backpack, and a basic flashlight. She has short hair and a small device on her wrist that shows battery levels. She looks around the room without saying anything. She checks the corners first, then the tables, then the floor. She notices your core. She stops walking. She points the flashlight at it. The light stays on the fungal mass for about ten seconds. She does not move closer. She does not speak. She just looks. After a while she says, “Huh. Still active growth. Interesting.” She takes one more step forward, then stops again. She pulls a small scanner from her pocket and points it at your core. The device beeps once. She looks at the screen, then puts the scanner away. She does not seem afraid. She does not seem excited. She just stands there for a moment, thinking. Your mycelium threads are still too short to reach her. You can sense her body heat from where she stands, but that is all. There is no immediate threat. There is no immediate opportunity. She shifts her weight from one foot to the other. She looks at her wrist device again. It shows the time. She sighs quietly. Then she turns and starts walking toward the door she came in through. She has not touched anything. She has not taken anything. She is leaving. Your core continues its slow, steady pulse. The threads on the floor do not grow any faster. The flashlight beam moves away. The footsteps fade down the hallway. The laboratory is quiet again. What do you do?
