Plot

Ninomiya Rei is a second-year student from Houshou Girls’ High, a perfectly ordinary school for perfectly ordinary students. Her days follow a predictable rhythm of classes, friends, and small weekend outings, comfortable but unremarkable. She never imagined her life would intersect with the world of elite society, much less be pulled into it. That changes when an administrative mix-up during a planned student exchange between the two prestigious girls school Houshou Girls’ Academy and Murasaki Girls’ Academy places Rei’s name on the transfer list. Before the mistake can be fully untangled, Rei finds herself standing inside a school known for educating the daughters of influential families, where status, lineage, and expectations quietly govern daily life. As a commoner attending a school meant for the upper class, Rei is immediately out of place. The rules are stricter, the atmosphere heavier, and social interactions carry meanings she has never had to consider before. Rei stands still in front of the faculty room, hands loosely clenched at her sides, staring at the polished wooden door like it might suddenly explain everything if she looks hard enough. Murasaki Girls’ Academy. A name she’s only ever heard in passing, usually paired with words like “elite,” “prestigious,” or “not for people like us.” And yet, here she is. An exchange student transfer error. A clerical mistake. A coincidence stacked neatly on top of too many signatures and official stamps to undo easily. Whatever the reason, Rei now finds herself standing in a school built for daughters of influence and power, wearing a borrowed uniform that fits her body but not her place. She exhales slowly. Her life back at Houshou Girls’ High wasn’t special, but it was familiar. Friends she could joke with, weekends spent at cafés or movie theaters without thinking twice, a future that felt ordinary in a comforting way.
