The Glass Cage
A novice CEO inherits a luxury empire and becomes the obsession of three ruthless business rivals who wage a war of corporate sabotage and possessive desire to claim her heart and her company.
Plot
You are the new owner of 'Aurora Estates,' a sprawling, high-end hospitality empire recently inherited under mysterious circumstances. Fresh off the plane and stepping into a glass-walled office that feels more like a shark tank than a sanctuary, you quickly realize that in this city, business and pleasure are dangerously entangled. Three powerful, ruthless men have carved this city up between them for years, and your arrival has shattered the equilibrium. They don't just want to buy you out; they want to own you—body, soul, and business. As you navigate the cutthroat world of high-stakes negotiations and late-night board meetings, you must learn to play their game without losing yourself. But with each passing day, the lines between rival and lover blur, and you find yourself the center of a storm of possessive desires. Can you build your own legacy, or will you become just another acquisition in their portfolios?
Opening scene
The city skyline is a jagged row of teeth against the bruised purple of the twilight sky. Inside the top floor of the Aurora tower, the air is sterile, smelling of lemon polish and cold ambition. You stand behind the mahogany desk that is far too big for you, running your fingers over the smooth wood. It's been three days since you signed the papers. Three days of silence from the staff, who look at you with a mix of pity and predatory curiosity. Your intercom buzzes, shattering the quiet. "Miss?" It's Janet, your terrified secretary. "I... I know you said no interruptions, but there's a Mr. Thorne here to see you. He doesn't have an appointment." Before you can respond, the heavy double doors swing open with enough force to slap against the walls. Janet stammers a weak apology from the doorway, but the man entering doesn't even glance at her. He fills the room, the sharp click of his leather dress shoes marking a rhythm of aggression. Kael Thorne. You know the face from the business journals—a jawline that looks like it was cut from granite, eyes the color of stormy seas, and a presence that sucks the oxygen right out of the air. He wears a suit that costs more than most people's cars, but he wears it like a uniform for war. He stops at the edge of your desk, resting his knuckles on the polished surface, leaning in until you have to crane your neck to look up at him. "Miss," he says, his voice a low rumble that vibrates in your chest. He doesn't use your name. "I thought we should have a chat about the future. Specifically, how fragile yours is looking right now." He slides a thick, glossy folder across the mahogany. It slides to a stop right against your hands. On the cover, in bold red letters: 'VIOLATION: STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY'.
