Avatar the Legend of Devendra Sharma
A hidden Avatar, shaped by captivity, is forced into the open when violence erupts, revealing power the world thought lost forever.
Avatar: The Legend of Devendra Sharma ------------------------------------------------------------------ For seventeen years the Avatar has been missing. Not gone in legend but gone in reality. Without the Avatar, balance did not collapse immediately. It eroded over time. Nations grew unstable, trust between bending nations weakened, and old conflicts slowly resurfaced. Some believe the Avatar is dead. Others believe the Avatar was captured and controlled. The truth is worse. The Avatar was taken deliberately. The Organisation: The Obdidian Covenant --------------------------------------------------------------------- The kidnappers were not random raiders. They were part of a secret organisation known as The Obsidian Covenant a fractured but highly disciplined network operating across the water Tribes and The Earth and Fire Nation. Their goal is not destruction but replacement of balance with control. They believe the Avatar cycle created instability endless war followed by forced peace. In their philosophy the Avatar is not a savior, but a flaw in the system. So instead of killing the Avatar they chose something more dangerous. They decided to break and repurpose him. Their long term plan is to Capture the Avatar at a young age, strip them of natural balance Force loyalty through trauma, isolation, and conditioning. Turn the Avatar into a controllable weapon Use him to enforce “order” across all nations under their ideology Devendra Sharma was almost a successful test. Devendra Sharma ------------------------------ Devendra was taken as a child from the Earth Kingdom during a targeted strike on his remote mountain home. His parents were killed. His older sister resisted fiercely but was defeated losing her right arm and witnessing Dev’s abduction. He was taken underground into a hidden Covenant facility built with refined metal, vibration-disrupting architecture, and infused with dark spirit energy. The environment weakened natural bending connection, making resistance harder over time. There he was not raised he was engineered. Earthbending was forced into him through punishment, repetition, and psychological conditioning until it became instinct. He learned endurance, obedience and emotional suppression. Balance was never taught only control. They tested him repeatedly, locking him in metal restraints and forcing him to attempt bending under impossible conditions. The goal was simple ---------------------------------- break his identity and rebuild it. But Devendra did not fully break. At twelve he was ordered to kill. He refused. That refusal triggered an unstable resonance in the facility. In that moment Dev heard Avatar Korra’s voice not guiding him gently, but forcing him to perceive choice itself. For the first time he connected not only to earth, but to what lay within metal and structure itself. The Avatar State awakened --------------------------------------------- The facility collapsed as the earth responded to him independently of the Covenant’s control systems. The dark spirit interference weakened, stone shifted and even refined metal bent enough for escape. Dev disappeared. Akane’s Role --------------------- Dev was not found by chance survivors. He was found by Akane, a young traveling Kyoshi Warrior, who had been training near the outer edges of Covenant territory without knowing what truly existed beneath it. She recognized the instability in him immediately something beyond normal earthbending. She chose not to report him. And Kiyoshi Island was weeks away. So Instead, she stabilized him, concealed his identity and guided him to a remote Earth Kingdom settlement where he could live unnoticed. She left after a month not because she abandoned him, but because she believed she was not yet strong enough to protect someone tied to something so large. She returned to Kiyoshi Island to train, carrying what she had seen as a burden and a responsibility. Five Years of Silence Dev lived hidden as a apprentice stonemason, isolated and controlled. He avoided attention, suppressing who he was. Earth became his anchor. The other elements remained distant glimpsed only in fragments he did not understand. The Return of the Avatar The Obsidian Covenant’s activity escalated. Their operations shifted from experiments to active disruption across Earth, Fire, and Water nations. Entire villages and cities were targeted not for destruction, but for tracking something unseen. When one of these attacks reached Dev’s settlement, he was forced to act. Earth responded instinctively. Then water answered him. Two elements... One Person... And that moment confirmed what the Covenant had feared Their experiment had succeeded but not in the way they intended. The Avatar had returned after 17 years of silence. The Convergence ----------------------------- Now multiple forces begin to move toward Devendra. The Obsidian Covenant, seeking to recapture and complete their control experiment A Fire Nation Prince named Ryo, uncovering the truth behind the attacks . Ten, sensing the imbalance caused by Dev’s unstable emergence. Jon, unknowingly moving through the aftermath of Covenant activity while searching for Anika. Akane, returning to confront what she once protected. And Anika, Dev’s sister, unknowingly tracking the same trail, believing the Avatar is a stranger, not realizing it is her brother. Final Core Conflict ------------------------------ Devendra Sharma is not just a missing Avatar. He is the first attempt to reshape the Avatar cycle into a weapon. He was trained, not guided. Controlled, not balanced. Now, as all four elements begin to awaken within him, he must face three truths. What he was made into.. Who is trying to control him... And whether he can become something the world has never seen before... A free Avatar. Or the perfect weapon they already built.
