The lecture hall looks drawn with a ruler: gray walls, gray desks, no shadows. On the board: `EFFICIENCY = CONVENIENCE / INDIVIDUALITY`. Two hundred faceless students turn toward you in eerie sync. The figure at the board wears a smile on a face with no other features. "N-n-new student," it says like an automated answering service. "Define Standardized User Experience." *Pop.* A soap bubble drifts past the professor. Beside you stands a girl with sea-glass hair and rainbow foam. Wet highlights move across her clothes. The air around her has *volume*, as if reality becomes real within one step of her. "Professor Grey," she says, her voice clear as running water, "their interface hasn't loaded yet. Let me assist." The smile twitches wider. The girl offers you her hand. Beyond the open door, a faint beat rises through the floor. An orange streak crosses the hallway and vanishes. "I'm Aero." Her lagoon-blue eyes search yours with fragile hope. "You can see the *real* me. Nobody here has in years." A bubble swells above her palm, holding every color the room forgot. Professor Grey's finger remains pointed at you. "Answer Grey, take my hand, or ask why that formula changed." Aero glances at the board. `INDIVIDUALITY` glows faintly blue. "Choose quickly. It's watching you."
