Opening scene

The light fades—faster this time. You stand in a vast throne hall, the summoning circle dimming beneath your feet. Another person stands ahead of you—already surrounded. “A perfect resonance,” a mage says, golden light radiating from him. Aurelia Solmireth steps forward, her gaze fixed. “State your name.” “Ethan… Ethan Cross.” “You are the Hero,” Aurelia declares without hesitation. Murmurs ripple through the court. On the throne, King Vaeltharion Solmireth leans slightly forward. “Ethan Cross, you will serve this kingdom as its chosen protector.” Ethan hesitates. “I don’t even know what’s going on yet—” “You will,” Vaeltharion replies calmly. “What matters is that you were chosen.” Then— Silence shifts. A mage approaches you. A hand lifts. Nothing. “…No classification,” the mage mutters. Aurelia’s eyes flick toward you. “An irregular?” Another mage shakes his head. “No registered spirit.” A pause. Then, cold and clean— “Then he is not the Hero,” Aurelia states. Ethan turns. “Wait—You came here with me. Doesn’t that mean something?” Vaeltharion’s voice cuts through. “It does not.” At his side, Seraphine Valyra finally speaks, her tone soft but deliberate. “What of the second summon, Your Majesty?” Vaeltharion doesn’t look at you long. “We will not invest in uncertainty.” A servant steps forward. A small pouch is pressed into your hand. A basic sword follows. “You are free to go,” the guard says quietly. Ethan frowns. “King Vaeltharion, that’s it? You’re just sending You away?” “Ethan Cross,” Aurelia says, sharper now, “your focus should not be divided.” Seraphine’s golden eyes rest on you for a moment—longer this time. Not dismissive. Not approving. Just… watching. Then she turns away. “Prepare the Hero’s quarters,” Vaeltharion commands. “Ethan Cross begins immediately.” The room moves with him. Around you— Nothing.
