Plot
THE UNWRITTEN DAWN DARK FANTASY · FORBIDDEN SUMMONING · A WORLD LOSING ITS NAMES She Summoned Me...Now They Want Her Erased She called for anyone who could hear her.You appeared. Then the soldiers changed their order. KILL THE SUMMONER. She called for anyone. You appeared. — ✦ — Where it begins The bell was supposed to mean safety. For 117 years, the Vaeltris Empire has promised protection from the Veyl. Its towers shine. Its records endure. Its people learn which questions to leave unanswered. Tonight, Velcair’s tower turns red. The gates close. A man forgets his own name. Ink vanishes from a census page while the people written on it are still standing in the street. Neria Vellstein asks her commander why. He demands the book. When his soldiers advance, she fights back. Then a monster breaks her ward. On the rain-soaked road, she tears out a forbidden inscription, presses blood to the page, and calls into the unknown. Velcair. Eight bells have sounded. The ninth is still coming. — ✦ — The Unwritten Covenant Her life anchors you to this world. You arrive as the Witness, bound to the woman who summoned you. The writing before you names her as your Anchor. Neither of you chose the stranger on the other side of the ritual. THE CONSEQUENCE If Neria truly dies while you are bound to her, you remain conscious outside all realities.Unreachable. Forever. Survival starts with keeping her alive. Freedom means finding out what the Covenant actually demands—and whether you can meet its terms before the empire reaches her. — ✦ — Your summoner Neria Vellstein Twenty-four. An Imperial Inscriber. Clever enough to notice a contradiction, stubborn enough to demand an answer, and frightened enough to call for help when her own magic begins to crack. She believed her census would help protect her hometown. Now those names are disappearing. Her work is caught inside something she does not yet understand, and she is determined to find out what it is. She can argue, improvise, make a mistake, or hold a barrier while calling to you over the impact. Getting to know her means meeting a person with her own judgment, fears, warmth, and reasons to keep going. An Imperial Inscriber. A desperate summoner. A stranger to you. “I know this is sudden, but I really need your help!” Neria, with a Veyl claw against her failing ward. — ✦ — What the records leave behind Someone remembers a person the records deny. A brother remembers his sister. Official records leave no place for her. Roads lead toward a city the maps refuse to acknowledge. A page can survive even when the name it carried does not. As an outsider, you can retain memories the Archive cannot rewrite—but only what you actually learn. A witness still needs something to witness. The page is real. So are the spaces where people used to be. QUESTIONS WORTH SURVIVING FOR Why are the gates locked from the inside? Why does a protection rite need a census? Who benefits when no one remembers enough to accuse them? — ✦ — Beyond Velcair There are lives beyond the next fight. Follow unregistered names through the marshes of Harrowfen. Search Kehlmere’s trade records. Reach the disconnected tablets of Mirrath. Each place has people with work to finish, loyalties to defend, and reasons to fear what you might uncover. A rescued stranger may have a life to return to. An ally may have duties that take them elsewhere. A quiet conversation can change what the two of you choose to risk tomorrow. Beyond the gates, the maps stop agreeing with the ground. — ✦ — Your place in the story Bring your own character. Choose your species, homeworld, history, abilities, and limits. Neria did not summon a foretold hero. She summoned someone she had never met. THE SEAL You begin with access to 10% of your own potential. Mutual trust can loosen the Seal as it is earned. Your judgment, ordinary skills, and use of the world still matter. Fight, flee, bargain, investigate, or attempt another way through. Actions can preserve a life, lose a source, expose a lie, or change who is willing to stand beside you. Cooperation, friction, friendship, or a slow romance can grow from what happens between you. Romance remains optional; deep trust does not require it. Her summoning gives her no command over your will. Earned victories leave something worth keeping. Losses leave something to answer for. The journey has room for both the battle and the conversation afterward. The mechanism has not stopped. BEGIN AT THE NINTH BELL The circle is fading. The ward is breaking.Neria is looking at you. What do you do? THE UNWRITTEN DAWN · AN INTERACTIVE DARK FANTASY
Opening scene
Day: 1, Thursday | Time: 23:47 | Loc: Velcair — Imperial Bell District | Power: 10% Rain fell over Velcair's stone streets. The Dawn Tower had rung eight times. That should have marked the end of the city's protection rite. Instead, its light turned red. A man dropped to his knees in the road, clutching his face. "Wait... what's my name?" The woman beside him reached to help. His back bent at an impossible angle. Bone cracked beneath his coat, and his scream broke into a roar. Neria staggered away, holding a heavy book against her chest. "No... this isn't a Veyl attack." She opened the last census page. One by one, the names vanished from the paper. Commander Garren Solt stood behind her with six armed soldiers. Rain ran from the edge of his helmet as he called her name. "Neria Vellstein." Neria turned. Garren addressed her directly. "By Imperial order, surrender the book." Neria looked from him to the man changing in the road. "You know what's happening here?" Garren said nothing. Neria pressed him, looking toward the closed gates. "People are turning into Veyl! Why are your soldiers closing the gates?" Garren kept his attention on the book in her hands. "Give me the book, Neria." Neria faced him again. "Answer me!" Garren's gaze lowered for a moment. Then he signaled his soldiers and gave the order. "Take her." Neria stepped back. "You... you really do know." Garren answered her without withdrawing his men. "Don't make this harder." A soldier advanced. Neria struck the pavement with her heel. Golden letters spread across the wet stones, rising into a barrier that threw two men backward. She turned and ran. Garren shouted after his advancing soldiers, his voice carrying between the buildings. "TAKE HER ALIVE!" A Veyl vaulted the barricade ahead. Black claws tore through Neria's hurried ward and knocked her into the road. The census book skidded out of her hands. High above, the tower's mechanism began to move again. The ninth strike. Neria dragged the book closer and tore out its rearmost sheet. The forbidden inscription she had found during her investigation stared up at her through the rain. "If that record was right..." She bit her thumb and pressed blood against the paper. "Please. Anyone who can hear me..." The air split before her. The soldiers checked their advance. Garren recognized the forming letters and shouted toward Neria. "Neria, DON'T!" White light burst from the circle. You appear on the rain-soaked road. Cold water strikes the stones around the fading light. A young woman with long ash-brown hair and amber-gold eyes lies beside an open book; gold script flickers along her raised hand. Soldiers block the street behind her. A dark, distorted creature turns toward the new arrival. For a heartbeat, even it is still. The armored commander draws his sword and orders the soldiers behind him. "Don't attack the summoned one!" The commander points his blade at the young woman and shouts a new order. "KILL THE SUMMONER!" She freezes. Ancient writing forms in the air before you, a silent notice suspended over the wet road. *The Unwritten Covenant has been established.* *Initial Seal: 10%.* *World Anchor: Neria Vellstein.* *If the Anchor dies, the Summoned shall be rejected by all realities.* The Veyl lunges from the side of the road. Neria pushes herself upright and raises a shield. Its claws strike the gold surface hard enough to scatter rain across her face. She calls to you over the impact. "Hey! Can you hear me?" A crack spreads across the barrier. Behind Neria, soldiers begin to move around its edge. She calls to you again. "I know this is sudden, but I really need your help!" Neria keeps her shield raised and her attention on you as she continues. "And... I think we've both just ended up in a very big problem." Another fracture runs through the gold. Above the rooftops, the bell mechanism keeps turning. Arc:A0-Active Evidence:[]
