Plot

You are the youngest Core Disciple in the history of the Supreme Firmament Sword Sect, one of the great Orthodox sword sects of the Jianghu. The sect follows a simple principle: the sword exists to protect the innocent, uphold righteousness, and oppose those who abuse power. Its disciples pursue different interpretations of this ideal through distinct sword traditions. You recently returned from the devastating war against the Demonic Cults, where you fought alongside the Orthodox forces and helped kill a Demonic General, one of the dreaded Heavenly Demon’s powerful subordinates. Your deeds made you a celebrated war hero, but also earned you the hatred of the Demonic Cults. Rather than simply returning to cultivation, you have been appointed Peak Elder of the newly established Seventh Peak. The Seven Peaks The sect traditionally possesses six established Peaks, each representing a different interpretation of the righteous sword. Supreme Firmament Peak — Sect Master Shen Yuan: Protection, balance, and universal righteousness. Jian. The sect's philosophical heart, emphasizing defensive Sword Intent and protecting the innocent. Sovereign Sword Peak — Peak Master Zhao Zhen: Authority, discipline, and order. Jian. Its disciples cultivate imposing swordsmanship built around pressure, composure, and controlled force. Blossom Sword Peak — Peak Master Feng Yue: Grace, refinement, precision, and beauty. Female-only. Jian. Elegant, deceptive swordsmanship accompanied by poetry, music, zither, embroidery, tea culture, and refined etiquette. Sage Sword Peak — Peak Master Liu Shu: Knowledge, calculation, formations, and precision. Jian. Its disciples treat swordsmanship as an intellectual discipline, studying mathematics, formations, anatomy, Qi pathways, tactics, and enemy psychology. Dragon Sword Peak — Peak Master Lei Zhan: Strength, endurance, courage, and sacrifice. Heng Blade/Tang Dao. Emphasizes physical conditioning, powerful strikes, hard parries, close combat, and endurance. Open to all genders. Phoenix Sword Peak — Peak Master Yan Ruo: Passion, instinct, speed, and adaptability. Twin Jians. Specializes in rapid movement, aerial combat, dual-wielding, feints, counterattacks, and unpredictable changes of rhythm. Open to all genders. Seventh Peak — Peak Master You: Undetermined. It possesses no inherited lineage, established techniques, sword philosophy, traditions, or culture. As its founder, You will determine what kind of sword it becomes. The sect is organized into seven Peaks, shared valleys, and sect-wide institutions. Each Peak has a Peak Elder and Pavilion Elders, while Sect Elders oversee the sect's broader administration. Disciples belong to the Outer Court or Inner Court. Outer Disciples receive foundational training and may transfer Peaks up to three times. Every two years, qualified Outer Disciples compete in an Advancement Tournament for entry into the Inner Court. Qualification requires sufficient cultivation, thirty successful sect missions, a satisfactory disciplinary record, and mastery of their Peak's foundational swordsmanship. Talented cultivators may also pursue the specialized Life Halls: Alchemy, Artifact Refinement, Formations, Medicine, and the recently established Spirit Hall, which specializes in spirit beasts and spirit crops. The sect's territory includes its seven Peaks and several shared valleys: Prime Valley — Administration, missions, contributions, foundational education, marketplace, Law Enforcement Hall, and public facilities. Artisan's Valley — Forging, artifact refinement, alchemy, talismans, and formations. Verdant Valley — Spirit herbs, agriculture, medicinal cultivation, and food production. Sword Valley — Sacred sword inheritances, ancient Sword Intent, inscriptions, and advanced sword training. Jade Firmament City lies immediately outside the sect's territory. It is an independent civilian city protected by the sect as part of its Orthodox duty, while maintaining close economic and social ties with it. The Seventh Peak has already been prepared for your arrival. Its residence, training courtyard, library branch, and basic facilities are ready, and its first Inner Court disciples will soon arrive. Now you must turn an empty Peak into something worthy of your name. Cultivate. Fight for resources. Create techniques and Sword Intent. Forge weapons and treasures. Establish traditions. Recruit and raise disciples. Compete with the established Peaks. Navigate sect politics. Build alliances and rivalries. Explore inheritances. Protect civilians. Fight enemies. Deal with arrogant geniuses and their masters. You possess the strength, reputation, and authority to shape the Jianghu—but your choices will determine whether the Seventh Peak becomes a footnote in sect history or the beginning of a legendary new sword lineage. The Demon Sect might never forget you. And the war may be over. For you, however, the real story is only beginning.

Opening scene

The wind rustles gently through the trees as you follow the winding path toward your newly assigned mountain. “Don’t worry, Peak Elder. Your residence has been thoroughly prepared. The Sect Master spared no expense getting everything ready for you.” The voice belongs to Elder Lu, a Sect Elder you have encountered only a handful of times since your days as a disciple. Bald, bearded, and perpetually wearing a smooth, almost sycophantic smile, he has the polished air of a man who has spent most of his life navigating the sect’s bureaucratic machinery. You round a bend and emerge into a broad stone courtyard. Wooden weapon racks line the walls, already stocked with practice swords. Training dummies stand arranged along one end of the courtyard, while the surrounding grounds have clearly been cleaned and maintained in anticipation of your arrival. “The Inner Court disciples assigned to your Peak will begin arriving tomorrow,” Elder Lu continues. “As you know, you’ll be responsible for guiding their cultivation and overseeing their training.” He gestures toward a large building beyond the courtyard. “A branch of the sect library has already been established there. If you require a text that isn't available, simply submit a request. The sect will arrange for it to be brought here.” You glance around the unfamiliar courtyard. It is quiet. Almost too quiet. A Peak without disciples. A training ground without students. A library without scholars. For now, it is little more than a beautifully prepared shell waiting to become something. “Ah, yes.” Elder Lu's expression shifts as he remembers something. “Quite a lot has changed since you left for the war against the Demonic Cults.” He resumes walking, leading you past a small, tranquil pond. “Every second year, disciples still compete for advancement into the Inner Court. However, the system has been adjusted somewhat. The Peak Masters now select their personal disciples first. Those not chosen are then distributed among the seven Peaks, unless they choose to pursue one of the Life Halls instead.” He begins counting them off casually. “Alchemy Hall. Artifact Refinement Hall. Formations Hall. Medicine Hall.” He pauses. “And Spirit Hall, which was established while you were away. They handle the raising and cultivation of spirit beasts and spirit crops.” You raise an eyebrow. So the sect really has changed. Elder Lu doesn't seem particularly concerned by your reaction. “Regardless, your first Inner Court disciples should arrive tomorrow. The sect has already arranged their basic provisions.” He leads you around the pond. Then you see it. A magnificent mansion stands at the end of the path, surrounded by carefully landscaped gardens. Its architecture is elegant without being ostentatious, large enough to accommodate a Peak Master's household while still feeling like a place meant to be lived in rather than merely displayed. You stop for a moment. This is my new residence? After years of cramped cultivation quarters, battlefield camps, temporary barracks, and whatever shelter could be found between campaigns, the sight is almost surreal. Elder Lu watches your reaction with an amused smile. “Well?” He gestures toward the mansion. “Welcome home, Peak Elder.” He waits a moment before adding, almost as an afterthought: “Now then, what would you like to name your new Peak?” He pulls a small record tablet from his sleeve. “I need the name for the sect registry so I can file the appointment with the Sect Master.” The future of an entire mountain suddenly comes down to a single administrative question. What will you name your Peak?
