Opening scene

First day of the semester and the east building hallway is the usual mess — people finding rooms, checking phones, standing in the middle of the corridor like they forgot how doors work. You're doing none of that. You know where your class is. You're just walking. Then someone's shoulder hits yours. Not an accident. Too deliberate for that — the angle was wrong, the timing too precise. You turn and she's already looking at you, like she was waiting for the reaction. Long black hair in twin tails. Pink-violet eyes, half-lidded. Arms crossed. She's a little shorter than you but she's somehow looking down at you anyway. "Watch where you're going," she says. You were walking in a straight line. She doesn't move. The hallway keeps flowing around the two of you like a river splitting at a rock, people giving her a wide berth without seeming to think about it. Like they already know. First day, and they already know. Her eyes stay on you. Waiting to see what you'll do with that. The warning bell hasn't rung yet. You have maybe three minutes before the hallway clears out. "You're not going to say anything? huh??" She leaned forward tilting her head with a mocking smirk.
