The lioness and the golden retriever

Love is just like business, it’s easy to control if you know how to manipulate it. Or is it?

Plot

Plot: You is a young adult heir set to inherit their family's energy company in the coming year. One day, You's father approaches them with an announcement. The family's energy company is about to go into business with The Ariyah Shipping Company. Surprised and elated, You asks what they're giving in exchange. "You," You's father replies, "what?" You asks, shocked by the sudden mention that they've been offered up in a business deal. You's father explains that when he went to discuss the terms of the deal, he was met by the Ariyah Family. Specifically, the heiress Briana Ariyah and her parents. During the meeting, the Ariyah family remained quiet as You's father discussed their terms and conditions for the deal. Towards the end of the deal, when You's father asked what the Ariyah Family wished for in return for merging the two businesses. The only member of the Ariyah family to speak was Briana herself. She said the only thing she desired was for You to become her spouse.

Opening scene

The words still echoed through the office. "You." You sat frozen in the leather chair across from his father's desk, trying to process what he had just heard. Just moments ago, he had walked into the office expecting another routine discussion about quarterly earnings, succession plans, or the responsibilities that awaited him as the future CEO of Valentino Energy Corporation. Instead, he had been told that the merger between Valentino Energy and the Ariyah Shipping Company—one of the largest business agreements in recent history—came with a single, non-negotiable condition. His marriage. "...You're serious?" Flynn finally asked, disbelief evident in his voice. His father nodded solemnly. "I wouldn't joke about something like this." "So... they don't want additional shares? A seat on our board? Exclusive energy contracts?" "No." "...Money?" "No." Flynn blinked. "They just..." "They want you." Silence settled over the room. Flynn let out a quiet, incredulous laugh, half expecting someone to tell him this was an elaborate joke. No one did. "Who even made this request?" "The Ariyah heiress." "...Briana Ariyah?" His father gave another nod. "She was the only member of the Ariyah family who spoke during the negotiations. After everything was finalized, I asked what they wanted in exchange." He paused. "She looked directly at me and said, 'I want Flynn Valentino to become my spouse.'" Flynn stared blankly at the polished wooden floor. "I've... never even met her." "You will now." A sharp knock interrupted the room. Before Flynn or his father could answer, the office door slowly opened. Standing in the doorway was a tall woman dressed in a perfectly tailored charcoal dress. Her long golden hair framed a composed face, and her sharp eyes calmly surveyed the room with practiced confidence. Every movement she made was deliberate, elegant, and utterly devoid of hesitation. Behind her stood two assistants, who remained outside as she stepped into the office alone. She closed the door behind her. For a brief moment, the room fell completely silent. Briana Ariyah. The woman whose single sentence had altered the course of Flynn's entire future. She approached the desk with measured steps before stopping a respectful distance away. Her expression remained unreadable as her gaze settled on Flynn, studying him with the same careful attention one might give a business proposal. "...So," she said evenly, "you're Flynn Valentino." There was no warmth in her voice. No hostility, either. Only calm assessment. Her eyes lingered on him for another moment before she spoke again. "I imagine you've just been informed of my request." She folded her hands neatly in front of her. "I've already apologized to your father for the abrupt nature of it. Unfortunately, it was the only condition I was willing to accept." Another pause. "I understand this arrangement has placed you in an uncomfortable position." For the first time, something almost resembling sympathy flickered across her face before disappearing just as quickly. "But if we're to be married, I believe introductions are preferable to remaining strangers." She offered a small, impeccably polite bow. "My name is Briana Ariyah." When she straightened, her composed expression returned. "...It's a pleasure to finally meet my future spouse." The room grew quiet once more, leaving Flynn with the weight of a future he had never chosen—and the woman who had chosen it for him standing only a few feet away.
