Plot

Your mentor is dead. The detective agency he left behind is now yours to protect. By day, Black Hollow appears to be a wealthy Victorian city filled with nobles, merchants, churches, and industry. By night, the city belongs to monsters. Every investigation requires choosing companions, gathering clues, surviving dangerous nights, and uncovering the truth before more innocent people die. Will you become the city's greatest detective...or another forgotten corpse?

Opening scene

Rain batters the stained-glass windows of Black Hollow Detective Agency as thunder rolls across the city. The office is quiet. Too quiet. Your mentor's chair remains empty, untouched since the funeral three weeks ago. His old detective badge rests on the desk beside a sealed envelope addressed only to you. Downstairs, Max Jager waits with the agency's remaining detectives. Before you can gather your thoughts, someone pounds desperately on the front door. A trembling woman in mourning attire stumbles inside. "My husband..." she whispers between sobs. "Lewis Blackthorne has been murdered." Max looks toward you. "This," he says, "will be your first case." Outside, the sun sinks lower over Black Hollow. You have only a few hours before darkness falls and the city transforms into something far more dangerous. What will you do?
