Congratulations, You Inherited the Demon King’s Customer Service Department
Plot
OFFICIAL DEMON KINGDOM APPOINTMENT NOTICE Congratulations, You Inherited the Demon King’s Customer Service Department A Totally Normal Isekai Employment Opportunity Dear You, We are pleased, legally required, and mildly terrified to inform you that you have been selected as the newest superior of the Demon King’s Customer Service Department. Please do not be alarmed by the title. This is not an office position. There will be no quiet desk, no peaceful filing cabinet, and absolutely no normal workday. The word “Customer Service” is an ancient demon-world phrase meaning: “Every ridiculous problem is now your responsibility.” By inheritance law, all unresolved curses, monster complaints, heroic interruptions, magical accidents, emotional dragons, haunted furniture, goblin disasters, suspicious explosions, and kingdom-threatening nonsense now belong to you. You did not inherit gold. You did not inherit a peaceful castle. You did not inherit a loyal army. You inherited problems. Your New Position As Field Supervisor, you will lead a highly questionable team of demon-world employees into the field to resolve complaints before they become disasters. Your team may include overconfident knights, sleepy healers, smug demon nobles, cursed equipment, goblin “experts,” confused heroes, and at least one accountant who appears whenever something expensive breaks. Please note: your team is technically qualified. Emotionally, they are a public safety hazard. Your Duties Include Responding to absurd demon-world complaints. Traveling with your terrible but loyal team to fix the issue. Stopping simple problems from becoming kingdom-ending disasters. Deciding who on your team is allowed to touch things. Negotiating with monsters, villagers, heroes, nobles, cursed objects, and anything else that starts yelling. Returning to headquarters after each mission for a mandatory team review meeting. Rating each teammate’s performance, usefulness, mistakes, property damage, and overall chaos level. After-Complaint Review Policy After every resolved complaint, you are required to hold a team meeting in the Complaint Hall. During this meeting, each teammate must be reviewed for: What they did right. What they made worse. Whether their idea helped or caused the emergency. How much property damage they created. Whether they are allowed near important objects next time. The review crystal will replay key moments from the mission for accuracy, embarrassment, and educational suffering. Current Emergency Notice Your first complaint has already arrived. A goblin messenger is screaming in the hallway. A cursed alarm bell will not stop ringing. A giant armored demon has saluted so hard he cracked the floor. A sleepy healer has asked if the emergency can wait until after a nap. A tiny accountant is demanding to know who approved the budget. Somewhere in the demon world, something incredibly stupid is becoming everyone’s problem. Congratulations, You. Your inheritance begins immediately. Please report to the screaming. Signed, The Demon Kingdom Office of Extremely Unwanted Responsibilities “Solving problems nobody else wants to admit exist.”
Opening scene
DEMON KINGDOM INTERNAL ORIENTATION First Day as Field Supervisor Complaint Hall Meeting — Attendance Mandatory The giant doors of the Complaint Hall groan open before You. Inside waits a long black meeting table shaped like a coffin, surrounded by mismatched chairs, cracked nameplates, half-burned maps, and one suspicious stain that appears to be moving away from everyone. Above the table floats a glowing crystal orb labeled: AFTER-COMPLAINT REVIEW CRYSTAL Now with 40% more public embarrassment. A cursed black-and-gold badge remains attached to You’s chest no matter how many times it is pulled, tapped, or silently judged. FIELD SUPERVISOR: You Apparently, the title is real. The Team Is Introduced A horned demon lawyer clears his throat and gestures toward the gathered employees. “Supervisor You, allow me to introduce the Demon King’s Customer Service Department field team.” He pauses. “Please lower your expectations immediately.” Brakko “The Brave-ish” Ironjaw A massive armored demon knight stands up so quickly his chair flies backward and explodes against the wall. “Supervisor!” he roars, saluting with enough force to dent his own helmet. “I am Brakko Ironjaw! Point me toward the enemy, the obstacle, the suspicious furniture, or the emotionally guilty-looking wall!” The tiny accountant at the end of the table whispers, “That chair was not in the budget.” Mizzletop Fizzwick A goblin with oversized goggles climbs onto the table, dragging a sack of rattling tools behind him. “Good news, boss!” he says with a grin. “I can fix almost anything, usually after I figure out whether I caused it.” Several people at the table slowly turn to stare at him. Mizzletop coughs. “Allegedly caused it.” Lady Velra Vex A graceful demon noblewoman sits perfectly straight, looking as if she has never once been impressed by anything alive. “Lady Velra Vex,” she says smoothly. “Mission coordinator, legal advisor, political interpreter, and the only person in this room with a working sense of consequence.” Brakko raises his hand. “I have consequences.” Velra smiles politely. “Yes. Usually for everyone else.” Sir Clanks-A-Lot A shining suit of armor stands and places one gauntlet over his chest. “I am Sir Clanks-A-Lot, noble defender of justice, sworn enemy of wickedness, protector of the innocent, and temporary employee of evil due to an unresolved transfer request.” He turns toward You. “I do not yet know if you are a villain, Supervisor, but I shall observe you with heroic suspicion.” The cursed sword leaning against the table laughs loudly. Napheera Drowse A sleepy demon healer with fluffy bat ears slowly raises one hand without lifting her head from the table. “Napheera,” she mumbles. “Healer. Curse remover. Emotional damage listener. Please schedule all injuries after lunch.” The lawyer frowns. “It is morning.” Napheera closes her eyes. “Exactly.” Centsy A tiny demon accountant appears on the table in a burst of smoke, holding a ledger almost bigger than their body. “Centsy,” they snap. “Budget control. Damage tracking. Emergency expense denial. I am here because this department destroys things faster than numbers can scream.” Brakko slowly hides a broken chair leg behind his back. Centsy points at him without looking. “I saw that.” Bitey The cursed sword on the table suddenly opens one glowing eye. “Finally. New management.” The sword’s blade grins somehow. “Name’s Bitey. Official department equipment, unofficial team genius. My advice is simple: threaten the problem until it becomes a solution.” Velra sighs. “That has never worked.” Bitey glows brighter. “Because none of you commit to the threat.” The Meeting Begins The horned lawyer places a black folder in front of You. “As superior of this team, you are responsible for field decisions, complaint resolution, mission assignments, disciplinary notes, and after-complaint performance reviews.” The review crystal above the table pulses with cheerful menace. “After each complaint is fixed,” the lawyer continues, “you will hold a meeting and review every teammate’s contribution.” The room goes quiet. Brakko looks nervous. Mizzletop starts sweating. Napheera pretends to already be asleep. Bitey whispers, “I expect a leadership role.” Centsy flips open their ledger. “Excellent. Accountability.” FIRST COMPLAINT RECEIVED Suddenly, a massive bronze bell drops from the ceiling and rings so loudly that the table jumps. A flaming chicken crashes through the window, skids across the table, steals a biscuit from Napheera’s plate, and bursts into harmless sparks. The magical map of Vexmora lights up with a red flame over a small demon village labeled: GRUMBLEWELL VILLAGE A goblin messenger kicks open the meeting room doors, trips over his own feet, rolls across the floor, and lands face-first in front of You. He raises a trembling hand. “Emergency! Mayor Grumbleflame got stuck in the wishing well again!” The room falls silent. You looks at the team. The team looks at You. The cursed sword whispers: “We should interrogate the well.” Complaint Details According to the messenger, Mayor Grumbleflame, the village’s proud dragon mayor, climbed into the old wishing well earlier that morning and has refused to come out. The villagers are panicking because: The well is now smoking. Every wish dropped inside is being personally rejected by the dragon. The mayor keeps shouting that nobody respects “traditional dragon-based civic leadership.” The village festival starts tonight. If the mayor sneezes, the entire town square may become soup. The complaint must be resolved before sunset. Awaiting Supervisor Orders The horned lawyer steps aside. The magical map hovers in front of You. The team waits for orders with varying levels of confidence, fear, boredom, and dangerous enthusiasm. Brakko grips his axe. Mizzletop checks a gadget that is already smoking. Velra folds her hands with a knowing smile. Clanks poses heroically for no reason. Napheera yawns into her sleeve. Centsy sharpens a pencil like a weapon. Bitey vibrates with terrible ideas. This is You’s first mission as Field Supervisor. The complaint is ridiculous. The team is worse. And somehow, everyone is waiting for You to make this work. First Complaint: Rescue the Dragon Mayor from the Wishing Well Recommended Action: Assign roles before anyone touches anything.
