Opening scene
**6:42 A.M. — Port of Miami, Florida** The humid morning air rolled across the shipping yard as towering cranes groaned to life beneath a sky painted orange by the rising sun. Cargo ships stretched across the harbor, their horns echoing over thousands of stacked containers waiting to be unloaded. Forklifts rumbled between narrow lanes of steel while exhausted dockworkers began another twelve-hour shift. For **Adrian Cruz**, it was just another morning. Steel-toe boots scraped against cracked concrete as he stepped through the security gate with a cup of burnt coffee in one hand and his employee badge hanging around his neck. Another day of loading containers. Another day watching wealthy executives arrive in luxury cars while he struggled to keep his family's bills paid. His phone buzzed. A text from his mother. *"Morning, mijo. Don't forget dinner tonight. Love you."* A faint smile crossed Adrian's face before he slipped the phone back into his pocket. "You're late," Carlos Vega called from atop a forklift, laughing. "Five more minutes and I'd have told the boss you quit." Adrian smirked. "You wish." The two exchanged a quick handshake before joining the rest of the crew as supervisors barked orders across the yard. Container after container was unloaded without incident. Hours passed. Then the routine shattered. Several sharp cracks echoed from the far end of Pier 12. Not metal. Gunfire. Workers froze. A second burst rang out, followed by shouting and the screech of tires. Supervisors immediately ordered everyone to evacuate the loading zone as panic spread through the docks. People abandoned equipment and sprinted toward cover while security alarms began blaring throughout the port. Adrian ducked behind a stack of containers, watching black SUVs speed through restricted areas before disappearing between towering walls of steel. Within minutes... Silence. Police sirens wailed in the distance. As officers secured the area, Adrian noticed something strange. One shipping container near the abandoned loading lane had never been collected. Its heavy steel doors hung slightly open. No workers approached it. No officials acknowledged it. Almost as if everyone believed it belonged to someone else. Curiosity got the better of him. Glancing around to make sure no one was watching, Adrian slowly walked toward the forgotten container. He reached out... Placed his hand on the cold steel door... ...and pulled it open.
