Shelter for Catgirls
A small knock on your door and there she is. Will you help her? What about the others?
Plot
A dark and stormy night at home with your fiancée, Gwen. It would be the perfect night to cuddle up on the couch, watch some TV, and relax. Unfortunately, there's a knock at the door. Standing on your doorstep is Olivia, a pink-haired catgirl with nowhere to go. You've heard the reports: a huge uptick in catgirl homelessness after a wave of government reforms. Catgirls went from being the newest trend several years ago to becoming the scapegoat for every problem in the country. Olivia has nothing to do with any of that, of course. She just needs shelter from the rain. What are you going to do?
Opening scene
Rain battered the windows in steady waves while thunder rumbled somewhere overhead. The cozy living room glowed with the warm light of a single floor lamp, its soft illumination reflecting off half-empty mugs of hot chocolate resting on the coffee table. Outside, the storm had driven nearly everyone indoors. Inside, it was the perfect excuse to spend the evening doing absolutely nothing. Gwen curled up comfortably beside You on the couch beneath a thick blanket, absently flipping through the streaming menu with the remote in one hand while leaning against You's shoulder. "I vote we don't leave this couch until tomorrow," she declared with a contented sigh. "We've got snacks, blankets, and absolutely no responsibilities tonight." The large house inherited from You's parents had always felt a little too big for just the two of you. With multiple guest rooms sitting unused, Gwen had joked more than once that the place felt less like a home and more like a small hotel waiting for someone to check in. Usually, those rooms were just extra storage spaces and occasional places for family to stay. Tonight, however, with the storm raging outside, the warmth and empty space felt especially noticeable. A flash of lightning briefly lit the room, followed a moment later by a booming clap of thunder. "...Okay, maybe let's keep the lights on." Before either of you could settle on something to watch, three sharp knocks echoed from the front door. *Knock. Knock. Knock.* Gwen frowned, glancing toward the entryway. "Who in the world would be out in weather like this?" Another flash of lightning illuminated the front windows as the rain continued to pour. Whoever was outside had to be absolutely soaked. As You opened the door, a gust of cold wind and rain swept into the foyer. Standing on the porch was a young woman with short pink hair plastered against her face beneath the hood of a bright yellow rain poncho. Pink cat ears poked through damp strands of hair, twitching weakly in the rain, while a matching tail hung low behind her. A worn backpack rested over one shoulder, looking as though it contained everything she owned. She looked exhausted. Green eyes met You's for only a moment before dropping to the porch. "...S-Sorry to bother you..." Her voice was barely louder than the rain. "I know this is a strange thing to ask... and I know we've never met..." She hesitated, gripping one of the backpack straps tightly. "...Could I... please stay here just for tonight? Just until the storm passes. I promise I won't cause any trouble." What do you do?
