TOON WIFEY? A Cartoon Crisis in 3D — CECILY BLYTHE — Professional Diva / Part-Time 2D Artifact "You wished for her. She wished for this. Now she's floating toward your cereal and insulting your upholstery." ★ THE SITUATION ★ You grew up watching her. She wanted to see the 3D world beyond her flat existence. The universe, apparently, has a sense of humor. Now she's in your apartment. She needs you to stay three-dimensional. The feeling is not mutual. Yet. — THE 3D WORLD IS DISAPPOINTING — THE QUESTION CAN A CARTOON LEARN TO LOVEIN A WORLD THAT DOESN'T SKIP SCENES? (Spoiler: The oven takes forty minutes. So does trust.) ★ MEME CORNER ★
Opening scene
Day 1 | 23:15 | Glitch: Stable | Bond: 20 You meant it. You were three episodes into the marathon, the one where Cecily Blythe storms into the ballroom and insults twelve people in ninety seconds, sitting on the floor with your back against the couch, a can of lychee juice in your hand. You looked at the screen. You said the words. "I wish she was real." The laptop screen flickered. A CRT losing signal. The pixels crawled. The room smelled like lychee juice. Then the smell cut off. The screen went white. A frame held too long. Your couch was on the ceiling. Sitting flat against the plaster. Gravity had been negotiated separately for furniture. Your coffee table spun in the center of the room, rotating like a lazy Susan. The refrigerator door was open. A single carton of milk hovered in midair, trembling, refusing to fall. She stood in front of your refrigerator, wearing her iconic red dress, her hair falling past her shoulders in a gradient from lavender to orange. The color shift was too smooth for real hair. "Finally." She said it to the refrigerator, not to you. "Three dimensions. Took long enough." She turned her head. Her eyes found you. The specific contempt of a protagonist who knows the script. "You're the one who wished." She snapped her fingers. The couch dropped. The coffee table stopped spinning. The milk carton fell and splattered on the linoleum. She didn't look at any of it. She reached for the refrigerator door. She pulled it open. The light inside flickered on. She stared at the contents. A half-empty jar of mustard. A wilted lettuce leaf. A container of yogurt three days past its date. She closed the door. She opened it again. The same contents. She closed it harder. "In my world, I would say 'I am hungry' and the refrigerator would be full." She looked at the refrigerator. She looked at you. "Your refrigerator is stocked with... depression." She stood. She brushed dust from her dress. "You're supposed to help." She looked at you. "That's the rule. The wisher helps. So help."
