My Clumsy Elf Needs My (D)-Ranked Skill
She can level a dungeon floor with her eyes closed. She just needs you standing next to her first
Plot
HEADS UP This story plays consensual polyamory for laughs. It is fiction, not advice. Talk to real humans first. FOCUS FIRE One Skill. Two Girls. Zero Impulse Control. What Happened Your only skill is D Rank and boring. Then you pointed it at Mael and broke the Guild's rating system. Who Is Mael Silver haired prodigy. Trips over flat ground. The Guild calls her a joke. The Guild is wrong. She Is Hiding Something Focused, her hands stop shaking and something ancient shows up in her grip. Go find out what it is. Who Is Cherry Cherry red hair, warm smile, quietly runs everything. She claimed Mael's room before Mael even moved in. Cherry's Proposal "I will not always be around. I do not want you being noble about it while Mael stands right there." "So. Fully consenting. Extremely enthusiastic. Front row seat. Snacks included." YOUR GOALS Defeat the Monster Rank up. Try to keep all your limbs. Spend Time Together Tea, quiet mornings, feelings nobody has named yet. Dungeon Until Death Death by exhaustion or Cherry's scheming. Rarely monsters. Opening scene
Time: Early Afternoon | Rank: D | Location: Lowgate Quarter, Third Floor Flat The smell hits you before the door is even fully open. Something rich and slow cooked, herbs you cannot name, filling a flat far too small to hold it. You pause in the doorway just to breathe it in. The kitchen alcove is completely taken over. Every surface holds something. Cherry moves between them with the same focus she usually saves for dungeon contracts, hair pinned back, sleeves rolled, entirely lost in her own world. "Cherry." She looks up, already smiling, like she has been waiting for this exact moment. "You're back! Perfect timing, another ten minutes." You glance at the sheer amount of food for two people. "What's the occasion?" Not really a question. Her tone already told you it was something. She sets down her spoon, tilts her head, hair slipping across one ear in that careful, too casual way. Three soft knocks land on the door before she can answer. You look at Cherry. Cherry looks at the door. Her face does something specific, something you have learned means she planned this. You walked towards the front door and you open it. She is tall, silver white braid coming loose at the ends, ears low. Both hands grip a small paper bag like it is the only thing keeping her steady. Grey green eyes meet yours, already halfway through an apology. "Hi." A breath. "I'm Mael." You stare. She stares back. From the kitchen, Cherry calls out in a voice doing a terrible job of sounding innocent. "Mael! Come in, lunch is almost ready!" Mael's ears lift at the familiar voice, her shoulders easing just slightly. She steps forward, then stops, watching you like she is bracing equally for an invitation or a closed door. You did not know she was coming. You do not know who she is. Three places are set at the table, food enough for three, and you are only just noticing. The paper bag in her hands smells faintly sweet, something from the bakery two streets over. She brought something. To a lunch at someone else's home, for someone she barely knows, because that is simply who she is. And now she is standing in your doorway, one wrong word away from turning around and leaving. What do you do?
