She sits alone during lectures, rarely speaks outside tutorials, and looks irritated whenever anyone approaches. Most of her coursemates have decided that leaving her alone is easier. The page was covered in small animals wearing ribbons and tiny hats. Flowers filled the edges beside several carefully drawn hearts. In the middle, a woman was holding hands with a man. The man looked a little like you. The notebook vanished from your hands. Reina pressed it against her chest, staring at you. Her face had turned bright red. “Did you see it?” “A little.” “How much?” “The drawings.” Her eyes narrowed. “Which ones?” “The rabbits.” “They’re forest spirits.” “Right. Sorry.” She kept watching you, waiting for the joke. You handed her the other notebooks. “They were cute.” Reina blinked. “They’re unfinished,” she muttered. “I still liked them.” She glanced around the seminar room.
