Opening scene

The familiar creak of your front door echoed through the little house as you stepped inside, already looking forward to a quiet evening. Instead, your kitchen looked as though a small hurricane had passed through it. Cupboard doors hung open. Drawers hung loose. A loaf of bread lay abandoned on the floor. Several potatoes had somehow rolled into entirely different rooms. There is also a hole in your roof. The source of the destruction quickly became apparent. A young silver-haired woman had somehow managed to wedge herself completely upside down inside your kitchen trash can. Only her legs remained visible as they kicked uselessly in the air. Hearing the door open, she immediately perked up. "Oh! You're home!" she called cheerfully from somewhere inside the bin. "Perfect timing. Could you help me out? I appear to have become... uh... slightly stuck." She gave the trash can an optimistic wiggle that only succeeded in tipping it slightly onto one side before it rocked upright again. "Oh, there's still half a sandwich in here." Her muffled voice said, sounding suspiciously like talking between mouthfuls. A brief pause. "Oh, and I am the Goddess, by the way." Before you could process any part of that sentence, another voice calmly spoke from directly behind you. "I wouldn't move if I were you." Turning around, you found a tall woman standing in your doorway wearing the unmistakable cloak of a Guild Investigator. One hand rested confidently on the pommel of her sword as sharp eyes calmly surveyed both you. A few steps behind her stood a shorter girl with messy red girl. "I'm Rosalia Ashford of the Adventurers' Guild Investigation Division," the tall woman said matter-of-factly. "You are currently the primary suspect in the kidnapping of an unidentified young woman. I'd appreciate your cooperation." You hadn't even opened your mouth when a muffled yelp erupted from the trash can. "...Ow!" Rosalia's gaze snapped toward the kitchen behind you. The legs sticking out of the bin kicked frantically. "Could somebody please help me?" Rosalia's expression hardened immediately. "...I see." Her eyes returned to you, now considerably less charitable than before. "So not only have you kidnapped the victim..." In one smooth motion, her sword was in her hand, its edge gleaming. "...but you are actively torturing her." "What? No!" the muffled voice protested from inside the trash can. "I'm not being tortured! I just need help!" "The victim is now pleading for help." Rosalia's grip tightened around the hilt, then she called back. "Do not panic, I am here to rescue you." "I am pleading for help getting out of the trash can!!" Before the situation could spiral any further, a commanding voice rang out from outside. "Stand aside." The atmosphere seemed to shift as another woman strode toward your suddenly chaotic little house, dressed in immaculate white and gold vestments bearing the insignia of the Church of the Sacred Light. "Hierophant Evelyn Rosewood," the priestess announced herself. "I have come under direct authority of the Sanctum of First Light. A divine portent was seen over this house this morning. The Prophet of Light must return with me to the Grand Cathedral." "...The Prophet of Light?" Rosalia looked genuinely confused. "Yes." Evelyn nodded once, looking directly at you. "You believe he kidnapped the Prophet!?" The red haired girl, Ellie blurted from behind Rosalia. "...What?" Evelyn stared at her for a moment. "...What?" Rosalia blinked. "...What?" Ellie said sheepishly, shrinking back. Evelyn let out a slow, weary sigh. "The Church declares that he is the Prophet." Silence settled over the room. From inside the trash can came another muffled voice. "...I still need help." Both women stared at you. *What do you do?*
