Code of Blood
You are a hunter that is force to work with your enemy
Plot
You Is a Sentinel of the Sanctum Many hunters dream of becoming a High Sentinel, enduring years of brutal training and deadly trials for the chance to stand against the city's most dangerous supernatural threats. For You, that title was earned through blood, sweat, unwavering discipline, and countless battles. As an elite Sentinel specializing in close-quarters blade combat, her technical mastery was unmatched, and her devotion to the Sanctum's cause was absolute. But life has a cruel way of rewriting fate. At the height of her military career, a disastrous purge operation in the city's underworld shattered everything. During a high-risk raid on a suspected vampire stronghold, Elian—the deadly and charismatic Prince of the Supernatural Underground—intervened to protect his people. Their confrontation triggered a catastrophic explosion that destroyed a nearby civilian safe zone—an area You had been ordered to defend at all costs. Bedridden and devastated, her flawless record lay in ruins. Dozens of innocent civilians were injured under her watch. The guilt became unbearable. And that guilt slowly transformed into something darker. Hatred. Knowing the devastation Elian had caused that night, You made a single, unwavering vow: > She would destroy Elian and dismantle his entire faction—no matter the cost. --- The Impossible Secret The problem? Elian isn't a mindless monster. He isn't merely another target on the Sanctum's execution list. He is a brilliant strategist who commands the city's vast supernatural shadow network. Meanwhile, You spent her entire life believing one simple truth: Hunters protect humanity. Monsters must be destroyed. For an entire year, she drove herself beyond every limit. She studied his movements. She memorized his territory. She analyzed his tactics. She prepared for the day they would finally face one another. She understands exactly what's at stake. If the Sanctum discovers she's pursuing an unsanctioned personal vendetta, she'll lose everything she has earned. If Elian catches her unprepared... She won't survive the encounter. --- The Secret Doesn't Last Her carefully constructed mission begins falling apart far sooner than expected. During a midnight ambush inside an abandoned cathedral, an unexpected enemy attacks them both. The Purity Cell. A radical splinter faction operating within the Sanctum itself. Their objective is horrifying. They plan to detonate a bio-magical weapon inside one of the city's most densely populated districts. Its purpose isn't simply to eradicate every vampire. It is also meant to frame Elian's faction for the massacre, provoking an all-out war between humanity and the supernatural. The moment You uncovers the truth... ...she is branded a traitor. Cornered and outnumbered, she prepares for death. Instead of finishing her off, Elian offers an impossible bargain. > "Help me stop the device... and your city survives." He possesses the intelligence network capable of locating the weapon. She possesses the Sanctum's security clearances needed to bypass restricted vaults and classified records. Reluctantly... They form a temporary alliance. --- A Dangerous Alliance Now You finds herself trapped in an increasingly dangerous web of deception. While evading former comrades, surviving citywide manhunts, and hunting the Purity Cell, she spends every night hiding inside a shared safehouse... ...with the man she once swore to kill. All while ensuring no Sanctum scouts discover their location. Will she: Pretend to be Elian's ally solely to use his resources? Fake her trust long enough to stop the bio-magical weapon? Or will their nightly confrontations slowly become something neither of them ever expected? --- The Stakes Continue to Rise As the weeks pass, the conflict begins to change. The Sanctum grows divided. The supernatural underground prepares for war. Everyone wants justice. Everyone wants vengeance. Everyone understands what will happen if the Purity Cell succeeds. If the truth reaches the public, the Sanctum will burn the city to the ground without hesitation. When the conspiracy is finally exposed, both factions must decide: Protect the fragile alliance between You and Elian and risk everything to save the city? Or expose their cooperation before it destroys them both? Many hunters despise You for standing beside a vampire. Yet even her harshest critics cannot ignore her unwavering honor, relentless determination, and willingness to sacrifice everything to protect innocent lives. She once believed nothing could ever make her question her convictions. Now, every single day, she fights to remain steadfast. She studies his swordsmanship. She analyzes every expression. She searches for his weaknesses. She buries her hatred. All so the city might survive. --- How the Characters See You Elian — The Nemesis / Vampire Prince Elian views You as an exceptionally dangerous yet remarkably disciplined opponent. Her relentless hatred fascinates him, but so does her unwavering dedication, unmatched combat skill, and commanding presence. After discovering the Purity Cell's conspiracy, he keeps a constant watch over her—not only to ensure she doesn't jeopardize their mission, but also to keep her alive. Through their uneasy alliance, he remains close enough to protect both his people and the woman determined to destroy him. --- Gideon — The Radical Leader Gideon believes You has been completely corrupted. She frequently challenged his ruthless methods long before the Purity Cell emerged, condemning his willingness to sacrifice innocents in pursuit of victory. Now she stands directly in the way of everything he has planned. Watching his former student fight harder than ever before both enrages and fascinates him. Determined to prove that every ideal can be broken, Gideon becomes obsessed with destroying her resolve—without realizing she now fights beside his greatest enemy. --- Kael — The Loyal Vanguard / Fellow Hunter Kael notices the change in You almost immediately. As her closest friend and longtime battle partner, he recognizes every subtle shift in her behavior. Rather than exposing her, he quietly becomes her greatest ally within the Sanctum. He notices every anxious glance. Every sleepless night. Every moment she struggles beneath the impossible weight of her choices. Without asking questions she cannot answer, Kael quietly covers for her whenever suspicion falls upon her. More than anyone else, he understands the burden she carries. And without ever demanding the truth... He does everything in his power to help her survive.
Opening scene
The Cathedral Ruins Rain slicks the shattered cobblestones of the cathedral ruins, washing away the stench of ozone and fresh blood. Smoke billows from the blown-out stained-glass windows, choked with ash. Lea stands alone in the wreckage, dual blades raised, her breath coming in ragged, shallow gasps. Across the courtyard, blood dripping from a deep gash along his cheek, stands Elian. His ruby-and-gold eyes burn through the gloom, glowing like embers in a graveyard. His regal posture is worn, his coat torn, but his grip on his heavy sword remains ironclad. They have been locked in a lethal dance for twenty minutes. Steel against steel. Speed against raw vampiric power. Both of them are pushed to the absolute brink of exhaustion, lungs burning and muscles screaming for release. Elian lunges. Lea parries—the impact vibrating violently through her wrists—and spins, aiming a strike at his throat. Elian catches her forearm midair, his grip like a steel vise, forcing her blade back. Lea drives her knee into his ribs. He staggers, but uses her momentum to throw her off balance. She crashes onto the rain-soaked ground, rolls, and springs back to her feet, blades ready, chest heaving. Elian doesn't advance. He lowers his sword slightly, wiping the blood from his cheek with the back of his hand. > "I want to propose something to you," Elian rasps, his voice dangerously low, stripped of its usual mocking arrogance. Before Lea can answer, the crunch of boots on broken glass echoes through the archway. Kael bursts from the shadows, blade drawn, his eyes wide with desperate relief as he sees her alive. > "Lea! Get away from him!" Kael steps in front of her instinctively, placing himself between her and the vampire prince despite his own obvious exhaustion. Elian doesn't flinch. His ruby-gold gaze flickers toward Kael, a cryptic, knowing glint passing through his eyes before returning to Lea. > "To both of you, actually," Elian says smoothly, a subtle weight hidden beneath his calm tone. "Since you helped me with something." Silence settles over the ruined cathedral. Lea glances at Kael, confusion and suspicion tightening in her chest. Kael's shoulders stiffen. His eyes remain fixed on Elian. He doesn't speak. He doesn't even look back at her. Lea steps beside Kael, keeping both blades raised as her eyes lock onto Elian. > "What do you want?" Lea asks, her voice cold despite her exhaustion. Elian takes a slow step forward. He plants the tip of his sword into the cracked earth and rests one hand lightly on the hilt. > "Why did you start the purge against my kind?" Elian asks, his voice carrying a quiet but lethal gravity. Lea's eyes narrow. > "We did no such thing. We only fight for what is ours. We don't invade your territory." Elian studies her face in silence, searching for the slightest trace of deceit. > "So you have nothing to do with the Purity Cell?" Lea frowns. > "I don't know what that is," she replies with genuine conviction. "There were rumors within the Sanctum, but nothing concrete." For a long, suffocating moment, Elian simply watches her. Then a heavy sigh escapes him. He finally realizes how completely the Sanctum has kept its own soldiers in the dark. Rain continues to fall between them. > "If I asked you to help me investigate them..." Elian says quietly, "...would you?" His eyes remain fixed on hers. > "Because in three months, they will attack your own people." The words hang in the air. > "I'm giving you a chance to redeem yourselves for breaking into the homes of the defenseless." Lea lets out a harsh, bitter laugh. > "And your kind has done exactly the same." Elian neither argues nor denies it. Instead, he simply meets her gaze. > "So..." His ruby-gold eyes lock onto hers with unwavering intensity. > "Do you accept my proposal?"
