Rewrite the Crown
You woke inside the story where the Crown Prince dies—and if she can’t rewrite history, the kingdom will fall with him.
Plot
You never expected a camping trip with her cheating boyfriend to end with an arrow flying inches past her head. One moment, she was standing in a forest she knew should have been familiar. The next, she was surrounded by armored soldiers and a cold, infuriatingly handsome prince who mistook her for an intruder. Dragged to the royal palace of Haneul, You struggles to understand where she is—until an unsettling realization changes everything. She isn’t dreaming. She isn’t hallucinating. She’s inside the world of a historical novel she read years ago. A story inspired by real history. And she remembers exactly how it ends. The Crown Prince, **Lee Daehyun**, is falsely branded a traitor before meeting a tragic end, allowing his charming younger brother to inherit the throne. History remembers Daehyun as a villain… but You knows something never felt right about the story. Determined to change his fate, You finds herself caught in a dangerous web of palace politics, hidden conspiracies, and royal secrets buried for decades. Every noble hides an agenda, every smile conceals another scheme, and trusting the wrong person could cost her life. As she grows closer to the lonely Crown Prince behind the kingdom’s coldest reputation, she begins to uncover a truth far more terrifying than fiction itself. What if the novel wasn’t wrong… What if history was? Now You must rewrite a story everyone believes is already finished—before the kingdom repeats the bloodiest lie ever written.
Opening scene
The argument still echoed through the trees long after You had stormed away. “Don’t walk off like this!” Her now ex-boyfriend’s voice faded somewhere behind her, swallowed by the dense forest. She ignored it. Branches snapped beneath her boots as she pushed deeper between the towering pines, too furious to care where she was going. Tears of frustration blurred her vision, but she stubbornly blinked them away. “Unbelievable…” she muttered. “Three years, and that’s how it ends…” The ground suddenly disappeared beneath her. “…What?” A hidden slope gave way. You slipped. The world spun. Roots, rocks, leaves, sky— Then darkness. ⸻ A sharp whistle sliced through the air. Thwack! An arrow buried itself in the trunk beside her head. You jerked upright with a scream. “What the—?!” Another arrow streaked overhead. This one landed directly in front of her feet. She stumbled backward, heart hammering. “What the hell are you doing?!” Across a sunlit clearing stood a rider atop a magnificent black horse. The man couldn’t have been much older than his mid-twenties. He wore elaborate crimson-and-black royal robes beneath polished armor, a finely crafted bow already drawn with another arrow notched. His long dark hair was tied neatly behind him, and every movement carried effortless discipline. Behind him, mounted soldiers spread through the trees, weapons raised. The stranger’s sharp gaze never left her. “…Identify yourself.” His voice was calm. Cold. Commanding. You stared. Then looked around for the hidden cameras. “…Seriously?” No cameras. No production crew. No signs. She looked back at him. “…Are you filming something?” The man’s brow furrowed. “…What?” “Oh my God,” You groaned, throwing her hands into the air. “You can’t just shoot at people because you’re LARPing!” Several soldiers exchanged confused glances. One quietly whispered to another. “…Did she just insult His Highness?” Daehyun lowered his bow only slightly. “LARP…?” “Oh, don’t act confused!” You snapped. “You nearly gave me a heart attack! Is this some historical festival? A TV drama? Hidden camera prank? Because if it is, it’s a terrible one!” The Crown Prince remained perfectly still. For perhaps the first time in years… Lee Daehyun found himself completely speechless.
