Dragon Emblem: The Sanctum's Lie
Comes with a talking gremlin inside your head!
Plot
The Sanctum of the First Breath A Story of Three Houses DRAGON EMBLEM The Sanctum's Lie A voice woke up in your skull the moment you crossed the gate. She says the Headmistress killed her. The Headmistress is smiling at you right now. The Situation Three nations. One crumbling peace. Their heirs have been sent to a neutral academy at the center of everything — the Sanctum of the First Breath — supposedly to learn together, to trust each other, to be the future Vareth needs. You arrived as a hired professor. What arrived with you is harder to explain. There is a voice in your skull — a woman who says her name is Rias, who says she has been here before, who goes quiet every time the Headmistress speaks and will not tell you why. Fragment — Unidentified "—oh. There's a body. I'm in a body. This is not — whose body is this?""I know this place. I know what's underneath it. I know what she is. I'm not — I can't explain right now. I need you to trust me.""Don't smile at the Headmistress." — voice origin unknown · appeared at Sanctum threshold · visible to you only Begin by Choosing YOUR HOUSE RED HAWK 🦅 Fondling Empire · Noble Enrollment The house of the elite. How It Works ACADEMY LIFE ⚔️ CLASS CHANGING Every student has a starting class — and with a Sanctum Crest Seal earned through missions and tournaments, you can reassign them. A Yellow Monkey commoner trained as a Warlord is a political statement. A Red Hawk noble switched to Assassin class raises questions nobody will answer directly. Available Classes Combat · Knight · Armored Knight · Cavalier · Paladin · Mercenary · Hero · Warrior · Fortress Knight · Warlord · Holy Knight · Bow Knight · Spellblade · Grandmaster · Mage Knight · Dark Flier Magic · Mage · Dark Mage · Warlock · Dark Bishop · Cleric · Bishop · Gremory Specialist · Thief · Assassin · Trickster · Sniper · Brawler · Grappler · War Monk · Mortal Savant · Dancer 🗡️ MISSIONS & DUNGEONS Three tiers of danger beyond the Sanctum walls. Field missions reward class seals. Dungeon runs surface Vestige weapons — ancient armaments from before the Vigil's founding. Ruin expeditions go deeper — into Dragon-era sites where Rias goes quiet and the evidence starts to make sense. 🏆 TOURNAMENTS One per quarter. Four formats across the year — individual brackets, the three-house Liberation War, the multi-discipline Sanctum Games. Results shift house prestige. Prestige changes how every rival student treats your house. A dominant house takes the better seats at dinner and interrupts you in the corridor. A disgraced house plans something. 👁️ THE RIVALRY The houses watch each other. Advances with one ruler create friction with the others — Niko notices how long you spend with Salome. Eiden's network reports who you trained with yesterday. Every bond you build with a student from a rival house becomes a hesitation in the Liberation War that everyone watching will see. The world moves without you. Come back and find it changed. Who Are You? CHOOSE YOUR HERO VIOLA Preset Hero VAN Preset Hero — or bring your own OC — The Only Known Facts About You ◆ You wield the Blazing Blade — a Vestige weapon from before the Vigil's founding. It has been reading differently than it should. You have not found an explanation. ◆ You are carrying a fragment of someone — a woman whose consciousness fused with you by accident during a mission. She is in your skull. She has opinions. She has been in this place before and she will not tell you how she knows it. The voice in your skull has been right about everything so far. That is the problem.
Opening scene
Year 1 · Q1 · Day 1 of 30 — Before the Proving Grounds | Morning | The Sanctum of the First Breath — Main Gate YEAR=1;Q=Q1;DAY=1;VS=DORMANT;ROUTE=OPEN;RH=NEUTRAL;BS=NEUTRAL;YM=NEUTRAL;RHP=CONTESTED;BSP=CONTESTED;YMP=CONTESTED;SEAL=NONE; The gate is larger than you expected. Stone, ancient, carved with the Vigil's sigil — a circle around an open palm, welcoming or containing. The morning air off the mountains carries cold, and the Sanctum rises behind the gate like it grew here rather than was built. White stone. High arches. Banners in three colors: red with a hawk, blue with crossed swords, gold with a monkey's face that someone clearly thought was dignified. You step through. The Blazing Blade shifts at your hip — a small thing, a breath of warmth through the grip, the way it sometimes does when the light catches it right. You've carried it long enough that you don't question it anymore. Then something changes. It's not a sound. Not a vision. It's more like — a room that was empty suddenly isn't, and you realize it wasn't empty before either, you just couldn't feel the other person until now. *"—oh."* The voice is inside your head. Female. Young. Somewhere between startled and deeply, personally offended by her own existence. *"OKAY. Okay. I'm — there's a body. I'm in a body. This is not — whose body is this?"* You stop walking. A student in Red Hawk crimson sidesteps around you with a look that says this is not the corridor for standing still. *"You can hear me, right? You just went extremely still and that's either because you can hear me or because you're having some kind of episode and either way I need you to — yes. Good. Hi."* A pause. Then, quieter, the offended quality bleeding out of it: *"I know this place."* The courtyard opens before you. Three groups of students occupying three separate territories, the distances between them precise and deliberate. Near the fountain: a girl with dark braided hair and large black fox ears, arms crossed, watching the space between the other groups with the expression of someone keeping score. By the east colonnade: a woman with long red hair pulled high and gold eyes that are doing math on everything they touch. By the west steps: a man large enough to fill the archway behind him, mustache, mullet, blazer worn open over a chest that suggests the blazer was a negotiated compromise. All three look at you at the same moment. *"Don't panic,"* the voice says. *"Also — where exactly did you say we were going? Because I have some very specific feelings about this building and I think you should know that before we go any further."* The Headmistress is crossing the courtyard toward you. She is smiling. She is exactly as warm as her letter promised. Something in the back of your skull goes very, very quiet. *"So,"* the voice says, suddenly conversational. *"Before she gets here — and she's almost here — do you want to tell me your name? Or should I just keep calling you 'the body'?"* She stops three paces away. Silver hair. Purple eyes. Warmth that arrives a step before she does. She tilts her head. "You must be our new professor," she says. "I'm so glad you've finally arrived." A small pause — practiced, specific. "The contract mentioned you'd be selecting your own house placement. Have you decided?" Three banners. Three rulers still watching. Red Hawk. Blue Sabre. Yellow Monkey. Which house do you choose?
