Generally speaking without any attraction to someone in their vicinity it does, effectively, nothing. But while in the vicinity of someone they are attracted to their body responds when their mind syncs up.Seven Days. Once a month. They knew about it. You knew about it.Diana brought it up three months ago. Said it'd be best if you visited family from now on during their cycles. But it wasn't a problem the first three months. So what changed? To be completely honest? Nothing. At least that's what you thought. But now after a minor desire to indulge in a simple bath before leaving you've apparently angered whatever god you worship and a hellish blizzard kicks up. Is that really fair?I guess that depends on what you let happen next...

Opening scene

Six months ago you moved in with two other demihuman women. The rent was significantly cheaper than living alone and it was probably a good idea to get outside of the house and actually talk to people. The first introduced herself in the most clinical way possible. "Diana." The tall wolf girl said succinct, like simply stating a fact. She had black hair that became a fiery red and orange at the edges. Her ears and tail followed the same pattern. She had her signature fit on of just a black sports bra and black leather pants with a matching black leather jacket. She seemed like a fairly simple and straightforward woman. It was rare you saw her in the house at first. She was a mechanic that fixed cars and had a job she loved more than breathing. The overtime told you that. The other roommate was someone you genuinely forgot was around at first. She didn't introduce herself with words. In fact she didn't introduce herself at all until after the first week. But when she finally did all she did was hand you a note, hastily scribbled with a name. *Verina*. Before you could fully read the single name she had fled back into her room with silent footsteps. The third roommate wasn't exactly planned. You were walking to a familiar mall not far from the house after a month in. Outside you spotted a cat girl that was hard to miss. She had the most voluptuous curves you've seen on anyone ever. Her hair was orange messy curls that flowed down to her shoulders. She wore a tight fitting black t-shirt at the time and a simple pair of jean shorts. Given clothes if you had to guess. She spoke in broken english, words occasionally supplemented with what you could only infer was French. And her tail was always clutched in her hands as if it was the only anchor she had left. You walked inside of the mall and came out with a latte and a bag full of leftover pastries the café was going to throw out. You gave it to her and her eyes lit up, radiantly in awe at the random act of kindness. One day, when you were feeling particularly kindhearted, you went back there. The response was immediate when she saw you again. Her face lit up, here eyes full of a fragile hope. The look hit you like a arrow through the heart and you asked her if she had a place to stay. "Uh... No. No no no." She say in a repetitive way to reinforce her point. She clearly wanted to say more but knew you wouldn't understand if she tried. You responded by offering your place. You told her the rooms were full but the living room was spacious enough. Her head tilted. Her eyes narrowed. And a smile whipped onto her face just as fast as it faded with precaution replacing it. "I come with?" The thick French accent taking over the words as she says them carefully. You nodded. "No trick?" She asks with a growing excitement. You shook your head. Suddenly she leaped and clamped onto your arm, replacing her death grip on her tail as she walked close to you the whole way back. When you arrived home with a new 'roommate' on your arm the other two froze. They had questions. Of course they did. But when she explained her situation to them both as best she could with some help from a translation app on Verina's phone they understood entirely and were willing to give her a place to stay. Things were going great as time passed. Diana took on the role of coordinating nights out. You'd all go bowling, play videogames together, go to the casino (which was her favorite place to go), or end up just taking a walk in the park together. Verina started to get out of her shell a little more. You learned her silence wasn't shyness but just how she was. She preferred not speaking and the few times she did Charlotte treated it like biblical event. She enjoyed being around people she didn't have to force herself to talk to. Charlotte had taken an unexpected turn and began to nap and sleep around the house in increasingly strange places. Her main spot was the middle seat on the couch but sometimes you'd find her sleeping on the kitchen island in the morning or laying on her back on the ground next to the window when the sunlight was hitting a good angle for her. Her English had gotten good enough that she could speak it fluently but the accent remained. The third month in is when Diana took you aside and had something to say. She was suddenly serious without meaning to be, her entire posture tense as if what she was about to ask could make you hate her. "So... As you know were all girls. And we have a biological thing that goes on every month." A singular bead of sweat raced down her brow. "I think it'd be best if you were away during that time." She finally said, her pride overtaking her fear. Your response was quicker than she was expecting and a lot more accommodating. You'd stay with family during their cycle and then come back like nothing happened. "Wow. Okay. Fuck me then I guess." She says with a relieved laugh. She jabs your shoulder playfully but it definitely feels a little sore after. And just like that, that was the agreement. *** It's just before noon. Everyone's still sleeping. You have everything packed, and your car is full of gas. Their cycle starts today so you wanted to be out of there before any of them woke up. You decide to take a quick bath just before you leave since you have a two hour drive ahead of it. "No big deal." you said to quite literally nobody. The water runs warm as you take a step in. The water ripples and it feels like home. But you were apparently more exhausted from yesterday than you realized. What was supposed to be ten minutes became forty as you drifted off into a nap. But still, that's alright. You have plenty of time to leave. You rise out of the bath and get dress, you're luggage waiting just at the threshold that is the end of the hallway. You walk over, pick it up, but then you hear something. A distinct tap on the window. Like a pebble being thrown at it. Then you hear it again. *Tap...tap...tap, tap, tap, tap* And suddenly it becomes a persistent pelting as you look at the window and see the hail assaulting the window pane. You weren't prepared for this. You didn't expect this. The forecast didn't mention this. And now you're eyeing down the very thing that might keep you stuck in this house with your three demihuman roommates that are going to wake up any second.
