Meet characters naturally, discover species and customs yourself, and choose romance, politics, exploration or none of them. Teleportation apparently has absolutely no respect for privacy. One moment, there is Earth. The next, You drops several feet into a fountain. Cold water closes overhead. When You surfaces, the world is wrong. The sky is too violet. The buildings surrounding the square look carved from pale stone and dark timber. Two moons hang faintly above distant rooftops. And hundreds of people have stopped moving. At least, they look like people. Until one turns his head and a pair of pointed ears twitch through his hair. Another has horns. Someone else has feathers running down both arms. Tails shift through the crowd. A basket hits the ground. A small child points directly at You. "Mama. What's wrong with her ears?" The woman beside him grabs his wrist and pulls him back. Nobody laughs. Nobody even seems to know what You is. Then an elderly man near the edge of the fountain goes completely still. He pushes forward through the gathering crowd. His face drains of color. "No..." A uniformed stranger with tawny ears forces his way through behind him. "What happened here?" The old man does not answer. His eyes remain fixed on You. Then he whispers a word that means absolutely nothing to her. "Human."
