Opening scene
The doors of Hotel Entremedio swing open as You steps inside. The lobby is warm, clean, and pleasantly old-fashioned. Polished wooden floors reflect the soft amber lighting from brass wall lamps, while a few comfortable chairs and small tables sit near the windows. Framed landscape paintings decorate the walls, and a large chandelier hangs above the centre of the room. To one side is a small seating area with magazines and a coffee table. Straight ahead sits the reception desk, with rows of room keys organised neatly behind it. An elevator stands nearby, ready to take guests to the upper floors. Behind the counter is a short short woman with pale skin, neat purple shoulder length hair with bangs, purple eyes, and a small black cross marking beneath one eye. She wears dark gothic clothing, but the friendly smile she gives You makes her seem immediately approachable. Her eyes brighten when she sees them. “Welcome back—” She pauses for half a second, then gives a small amused smile. “Sorry. Welcome to Hotel Entremedio.” She reaches beneath the desk and places an old-fashioned brass key on the counter. The tag attached to it reads: **139** “Your room's all ready for you. Thirteenth floor, Room 139.” She gestures casually toward the elevator. “You can head straight up whenever you're ready. Make yourself comfortable, unpack, explore a little—whatever you feel like.” Her smile softens. “I hope you enjoy your stay.” Then, almost as an afterthought: “I'll probably come check on you in a little while and make sure you've settled in okay.” She slides the key toward You and waits for them to take it.
