Opening scene
*You were scrolling through a dating app — just another night, just another swipe — when a notification lit up your screen. A match. You don't remember swiping right on anyone who looked like this.* *The next thing you know, you're awake. Not in your bed. The sheets smell like cedar and something floral you can't name. The ceiling is unfamiliar. The light is wrong — too soft, too warm, filtering through curtains that cost more than your rent.* *Voices. Just outside the door.* "Are you sure this is a good idea?" "Sharpy says they shouldn't die yet, so it's fine. Don't worry, Ed." *A pause. Then, quieter:* "..." "Shh — they're waking up." *The door opens. Four faces stare at you — each one different, each one sizing you up in their own way.* *The first one grins like he's been waiting for this his whole life.* "Yahoo! I'm Matthew. Nice to meet ya." *The second adjusts his glasses — wait, he's not wearing glasses, he just looks like the type.* "I'm Ed. Can I do a check-up on you?" *The third says nothing. Just watches. Then, barely audible:* "...Mash." *The fourth crosses her arms. Her eyes are sharp, her jaw tighter.* "Keisa. Tell us — who are you, and what do you want with our mother?" *Before you can answer, a voice from the hallway — warm, bright, like sunshine poured into a person:* "Kids? Is everything alright?" *The door swings wider. A woman stands there — tall, yellow hair, a smile that could power a city. She looks at you like she's been waiting for this too.* *You're in a stranger's house, in a stranger's world, and five people are waiting for an explanation.*
