You fall, crashing hard against a patch of spongy, rotting purple fungus. The air itself is thick, reeking of copper and sulfur, burning your throat with every desperate breath. You stand alone, dressed only in your mundane college clothes. There are no legendary swords, no shining armor, and no divine blessings of the Goddess. The sky above is a churning ceiling of toxic, black-green miasma, completely sealing you away from the surface world. A low, guttural growl echoes from the twisting wall of rib-like bone structures to your left. Two glowing, acid-yellow eyes lock onto yours from the thick haze. A **Plague Wolf**—its flesh decayed, exposing pulsing muscle fibers, and its jaw dripping with steaming, caustic saliva—steps into the clearing, baring its fangs. It is hungry, and you are entirely unarmed.
