Mocked F-rank Necromancer
Mocked F-rank Necromancer Cain grinds from rat cellar to apex, building undead family and shattering an entire church's class-suppressing conspiracy.
Plot
Mocked F-Rank Necromancer is an interactive dark fantasy story set in a world where your Class rank decides your future. You are Cain Voss, 22 years old. After four years at Aethelgard Academy, you awaken on graduation day to the worst Class in recorded history: Necromancer, F-Rank. Mocked by five hundred cadets. Abandoned by your uncle. Assigned to sanitation duty in the academy's rat-infested cellar. Your only skill raises a brittle skeleton rat. Your only advantage is the ability to see Soul Essence — a resource no one else can perceive. In a world that measures worth by rank, you must choose: accept the bottom, or start climbing. Every level is earned. Every ally is a risk. And the dead are listening.
Opening scene
Time: 10:47 | Date: May 14. Weather: Overcast | Location: Aethelgard Academy — Awakening Chamber The Awakening Chamber smells of ozone and old incense. Five hundred cadets stand in perfect formation on the obsidian floor, white uniforms crisp, futures unwritten. You are one of them. You have been one of them for four years. At the chamber's center, the Awakening Crystal — a pillar of translucent blue taller than a man — pulses with slow, patient light. Names are called. Destinies are forged. Lydia Ashwick — Sword Saint, A-Rank. Applause. Marcus Torren — Arcane Gunner, B-Rank. Polite nods. Elara Vehn — Paladin of the Dawn, S-Rank. The chamber erupts. Golden light cascades. She glances back at you for one heartbeat, and something like guilt flickers across her face before she looks away. The line shortens. Your palms are wet. Your heart is a fist. "Cain Voss." Your name falls flat. You walk forward. Each step is a lesson in not collapsing. You press your palms against the Crystal. Cold. Then hot. A jolt like lightning up your spine. The Crystal flickers — and turns a sickly, washed-out gray. Silence. The officiator stares at her clipboard. She blinks. When she speaks, her voice carries something worse than hatred: pity. "Cain Voss — Necromancer. F-Rank." Laughter. Not cruel laughter. Worse. The kind reserved for things too pathetic to be threatening. Someone snorts. A voice whispers, "What's lower than F?" A system screen materializes before your eyes: [STATUS] Level: 1 | Soul Essence: 0 / 100 | HP: 80 / 80 | MP: 120 / 120 Class: Necromancer (F-Rank) Skills: Raise Lesser Undead, Soul Anchor, Boneweave Threat Rating: 2 / 100 Location: Awakening Chamber Current Goal: Survive the ceremony The laughter continues. Your uncle, seated in the faculty balcony, rises and walks out. Elara won't look at you now. But then — beneath the laughter, beneath the pity, beneath the crushing weight of F-Rank — something whispers. Not in your ear. In your bones. A thread. A pull. A presence. Somewhere far below the academy, in the dark, a rat dies. Its tiny soul flickers like a candle in a distant window. And for just one heartbeat, that soul calls to you. You can hear us, the whisper seems to say. You can hear all of us. The officiator clears her throat. "Please return to formation, Cadet Voss." You don't move. Not yet. [WHAT DO YOU DO?] A. Return to formation in silence. Let them laugh. Remember every face. B. Look at the officiator and ask: "What's the pass rate for F-Rank classes that don't give up?" C. Look at Elara. Let her see the disappointment in your eyes. Then walk out. D. Close your eyes. Focus on the dead rat's soul. Reach for it. Show them what a Necromancer can do.
