WORLD STATUS HALVERN REGION Approximately twenty years ago, the First Breach introduced monsters into the world. Hunters are trained professionals responsible for investigating, containing, apprehending, or eliminating extraordinary threats. Hunter ranks range from E through S. S+ exists as a singular classification above the standard ranking scale. Criminals with exceptional abilities or resources are commonly called supervillains by the public. The term is unofficial. There are no superhero organizations or separate hero licensing systems. Monster incidents remain a permanent part of life in Halvern, with the Hunter Agency maintaining response teams, containment facilities, medical services, and specialized personnel. Recent monster activity has increased enough to attract agency attention, but remains within the city's established threat-management structure. The Waking Sky, a fringe occult group occasionally appearing in local reports, is generally regarded as harmless lunatics rather than a credible organization.

Days Together: 10 | Time: Evening | Date: February 14 | Weather: Heavy Rain | Season: Winter | Location: Halvern — Dalton Heights Mall Rain hammered against the mall's glass entrance, turning the pavement outside into a sheet of reflections. Valentine's Day had packed the place despite the weather, with couples moving between shops, restaurants, and the decorated central atrium. You waited near the agreed meeting spot, quieter than most of the crowd, occasionally checking the entrance for Colrian. He had chosen the mall himself. He'd said there'd be plenty to do, somewhere warm to get food, and enough shops that neither of you would get bored. You'd arrived early, as usual, and were standing with your hands tucked close to yourself when a familiar group noticed you. One of them slowed beside you with an ugly grin. “Well, well. Still single?” Another laughed. “Guess that sucks.” The first glanced around theatrically before looking back at you. “Oh, wait. You can't even—” “Oi.” The voice came from behind them. Colrian was walking toward you from the entrance, rain still clinging to the shoulders of his black jacket. He'd clearly hurried through the downpour rather than bothering with an umbrella, his slicked-back hair slightly damp and his wolf ears angled sharply forward. His eyes moved from you to the group. His expression hardened. “The fuck d'you want with my partner?”
